In fairness I don't remember any of us loving the Grabovski or Kulemin signing. They both had terrible years the season before we signed them and it was pretty much unanimously received as a gross overpayment for both of them. - Cptmjl
4 years was nuts to give them when they are so inconsistent. Same as giving Bailey 5 years. |

Good morning hockeyman. Trades happening so fast we cannot keep up.

Trades you say? Yeah, chiefs let me know about the JT for Martin trade. |

I was actually in the small group that didn't think enough of our current roster to waste any draft picks keeping said roster intact. I seem to recall you suggesting that Snow spend a 3rd round pick to prevent Vegas from drafting Nelson. Looks like the market for protecting players was steeper than 3rd round picks. - JohnScammo
I don't remember saying that but I'm an old (frank) so who knows? Besides I don't need that pesky Vukota fact checking on me again and digging up what I may have said that bastard. |

We "got rid" of Berube? He was a UFA we didn't have to sign him.
Saying Snow over paid is not complaining my man. He over paid a bit let's see what else he's got in store but if you think he deserves accolades for last night's trade we'll agree to disagree. - Cptmjl
When you think of it this way...we gave vegas a pick and a low level prospect to take grabovski to free up cap space and a pick to not take a player from the roster. If they'd taken strome or Nelson that means you're looking at prince or Quine in the lineup all season.
I think right now it's an incomplete grade because that cap space needs to be used to fit legit talent from a trade. If he doesn't use it, it's a bad trade. If he does, it was a necessary trade that worked in our favour. Can't grade it yet. |

Devils advocate. Who else was Snow going to sign. There certainly weren't going to be any high-profile players that were going to sign. Isles have to overpay UFA's to play for them, imo. |

Now, now, timer. Just because you can't remember to eat your applesauce with a spoon instead of a knife doesn't mean you need to go bashing other posters here. |

Tallon's Panthers just lost 48 goals in this expansion draft. - bgainesDM
I would think Oshie will be a prime target for them. |

This is fair. It is sort of like the Vanek trade. I supported the trade hoping their would be more moves from Garth. Garth needs to make a some impact moves or it's a lousy trade. |

I get that but neccesary or not it seems like a bit of an overpayment as compared. Grabovski had one year left... That's all done discussing this |

Every one of you loved it when we signed Kulemin and Grabovski. Every single one of you. We need Hbuzz to have a guy who goes back and gets these boards. |

I think he had to hold firm on 3 years. He also never should have given Ladd 7 years. No more than 5. |

Not true. I liked having them didn't like the contracts. There's a difference I just went back and checked just to make sure and just about everyone else had the same sentiment |

I'm hearing no trade is going to be made today. Hopefully I'm wrong, but could be during the draft - Joey1724
I would think Islanders would want prime time exposure to announce any trades... |

So, what if he held firm on 3 years and they both signed elsewhere? Grabo was a decent-good player. Brought a little speed and scoring. Kuli, meh. Solid 3rd-liner.
I agree on Ladd's term. |

wait you guys think snow did badly here? i think he did great. WE dumped a injured $5mm a year contract and lost no assets. we could have easily lost a dehaan, hickey or nelson here.
Now he has plenty of gun powder to make play for Duchene and/or Galychenuk
Be prepared fellas - the prices to get those guys will be high. Dont be surprised if we dont lose a Barzal, Pulock or Beau or a combination of them.
Strome/Hamonic isnt going to cut it. |

Only thing that bothered me with those signings was the fact they were the type that should've been done the summer JT was drafted. Sadly we needed to overpay to get players here and to start to turn the team around.
Not 5 years later

I don't. I like the move. Noe we wait & see if he can off a big-time trade or 2. |
