Neal should have been awarded a Lady Byng for kneeing Marchand in the head.

Nelson and Bailey would wet themselves if Neal was on the Isles.

I do not like the cheap shots at all, but the toughness with some skill would be welcomed.

Anyone who is complaining about Snow's move is out of their mind and just wants to be angry and hate their GM. We got rid of 3 guys who were not going to play for this team ... ever.. got rid of $5 mill of cap space, and KEPT deHaan, Strome, Nelson, Bailey, etc. It took a first round pick in a shtty draft and a second 3 years from now. WTF could you possibly not like about this deal.

(And Ranger's fans on here really make me laugh. You guys lost a very good young player who was awesome in the playoffs. He got better later in season after recovering from hip surgery and every Rags fan I know with a Clue was praying he was not the guy Vegas took. You are making fun of the Isles for giving up a first round pick this year and a second in 2019? You gave up 2 seconds for Eric Staal, 2 firsts for St. Louis, Yandle cost u a first, second, duclair, Brendan smith a 2nd and 3rd is a UFA next week.. just stop with your idiocy. )

We "got rid" of Berube? He was a UFA we didn't have to sign him.

Saying Snow over paid is not complaining my man. He over paid a bit let's see what else he's got in store but if you think he deserves accolades for last night's trade we'll agree to disagree.

I would like to believe him too, but with the Islanders coming out saying they are willing to wait for JT to sign even after the start of the season, I would tend to think he's wrong.

But I will give you the benefit of the doubt until July 1st

I'm hearing no trade is going to be made today. Hopefully I'm wrong, but could be during the draft

James Neal would be a welcomed addition.

I can't stand him and don't want him. However, he'll probably be the one trade that Garf makes.

I look at it this way- the defenseman won't crack their lineup, never mind ours, the goalie has been crap, every time I've seen him, and Grabovski is likely finished. So he basically traded two draft picks to keep the major league team intact, and add $5M in cap room. Snow has always had this kind of trade work out, for the most part- but now, for the first time since Ryan Smyth, he actually has to make a REAL trade. Let's see if he can make that happen without being stupid.

Fair enough... I was extremely happy with last night. I think I will be even happier today. If he fails to land Duchene I will be furious. Fck Eberle by the way.

(Sidenote- everyone who complains about Grabovski contract are the same people who LOVED the sign. Guys get hurt in hockey sometimes. It happens to every team. Grab was a very good player when healthy.)

These other GM's are going to make Garth sweat. They know he needs to make an impact trade. This would be brutal if we have to wait until 7:00pm tomorrow for a trade.

He's far from the only one. MTL is probably in a much worse spot, they need to add some LH defensemen and a center ASAP

I was actually in the small group that didn't think enough of our current roster to waste any draft picks keeping said roster intact. I seem to recall you suggesting that Snow spend a 3rd round pick to prevent Vegas from drafting Nelson. Looks like the market for protecting players was steeper than 3rd round picks.

In fairness I don't remember any of us loving the Grabovski or Kulemin signing. They both had terrible years the season before we signed them and it was pretty much unanimously received as a gross overpayment for both of them.

Did Snow throw in Bailey as a sweetener?

Started to read the comments on the first page. Wasn't going to read all the pages. I like what Snow did in this expansion draft. A 1st & 2nd, a guy that'll never play again, a goalie that's a UFA in 2 weeks, and a prospect that'll probably never sniff the NHL to get all his prized toys. If he brings in a couple of impact players and gets JT to sign, then it'll all be on the coaches. We'll see what he does over the next few days.
