Or they just sit on Moulson to hit the cap floor next 2 years
- lulags

Yeah, maybe
I just don't see it

You'd think there were already talks about us sending Vegas Moulson
Guessing they wanted too much

And I don't want to potentially screw up a "deal for Neal" (that's catchy, haha!), by trying to add in salary dumps

Neal probably isn't getting moved unless they take on a ton of salary...

as I have been saying Vegas is still $8 million under the cap floor

Subject to change, of course, but Hurricanes don't plan on trading any of their top 7 D, want to use picks/prospects to upgrade at forward

It amazing how okay the EDM fans are with that trade. My gawd. I'd be pissssssed
- JVince11

McDavid is the opiate of the Edmontonian masses. They get worked up, and then they remember they still have the best player in the NHL for the next 8+ years

At the current moment Vegas needs to add about $8 million in cap to hit the floor.

Gorges, Moulson, Ennis, Bogo etc

My guess is Gorges would be a prime target with him only having one year left

- Stripes77

They can do that at any point this summer too though
I'm assuming their focus is on dumping players for picks right now
Cap floor will be addressed whenever

But when they're ready to do that...
of course I'd let them know those guys are available

They have all summer long & no shortage of teams that will be more than happy to dump salary on them
The Cap is of very little concern to them right now

If they keep dumping salary it's not going to be a walk in the park to add enough (talking about players on 1 year or 2 years remaining on their deals)

Would we still dump Moulson &/or Gorges on them in a week or 2?
Every team has contracts like that

So I have to admit I haven't paid much attention to this years draft.

Nico and Patrick are the top 2 guys right?

Without a doubt
3-9 seems to be the next group
Some might say it extends to 12ish

Sure but if they add those two and move Neal they are still $5 million short!

I just don't see them shedding a ton more of salary.

They also have to have a somewhat reasonable team on the ice to keep interest

#Canes come to Buffalo and offer 12th overall for Evander Kane. Do you say yes or do they add more? #Sabres

What sort of damage could the Sabres do with 8th and 12th overall?

Could that get them into the top 2?

Is it worth moving into the top 2 for 2 high firsts?

Is Kane worth 12th overall? Is 12th overall enough?

Those 2 adds are just from us!!!
They'll have 29 other teams offering them salary as well

Getting to the floor is NEVER an issue for any team

As far as putting a good team on the ice...
looks to me like they wanna tank
I guess we'll see though

Neal is 100% getting traded imo
He's UFA after this year
No way Vegas keeps him when they could get assets for the future

I agree but starting next year we will have:

ROR 7.5M
Eichel 6M
Okposo 6M
Risto 5.4M
Bogo 5.2M
Reino 5M

Hopefully still Kane but not Moulson or Ennis. A lot of coin there.

12th for Kane?
Yeah, that likely gets it done imo

8 + 12 for #2... doubt it, but I'd do it (especially for Hischier)

I take it, but then draft at 8 and at 12.
Dont move the pics in a package to move up, only one for one, like 12 for a d-man and 8 for a d-man

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if this is the year to trade up to 1/2 in the draft. Not sure what the cost would be but if we could somehow land Hischier, he could possibly play next year and replace Kane(if traded in the move up)

He was talking about Vegas' salary structure, not ours
We have room to sign Kane, add & sign Neal, add a 5-6mil defenseman
But Moulson & Ennis & Bogosian all need to go in the next 2 years
Moving these guys now might be tough
After next year should be easier

THis years draft besides the top 2 is softer than cat sh1t in the sun though I've read. A lot guys who are 2-3 years away at best.

I'd doubt anyone in line for them two are going to deal them for 8 and 12.
