They are just SOOO young... They have a TON of good D depth but man... just hit or miss on offense IMO. Staal, Skinner, Rask, Teuvo, Lindholm, Stempniak.

I have a buddy with an "in" with the Pegula's and was told this 10 months ago.

They wanted him gone by trade deadline, and Murray sitting on his hands was part of the reason he's not here.

Which is why I have a hard time believing there will be any extension talks

Going the wrong way here..... slower and short sighted. You only sign those players to short deals if it is all you need to get over a hump in the ECF or something.

The problem with that theory is that as much as Botterill has said he wants guys to be able to develop, he also wants them to know that there's a spot on the NHL roster if they've earned it. You bring in those two guys and there's just no room for any of the kids to make the roster, even if they earn it.

I said the other day that Girgensons could be one of the more interesting stories this year with the coaching change. It's no secret him and Bylsma didn't seem to mesh well.

Unfortunately, I think Larsson's stock is pretty low right now coming off that pretty gruesome arm injury. I'm assuming he's going to be healthy at the start of camp, but other than being told he was done for the year, we haven't heard anything in terms of his health or a timeline (that I remember anyway).

Like I said when he was drafted...
I don't ever see him being a 20goal scorer

If we can trade Girgs + for Eberle, I'd do that in a heartbeat
(Rumors are that the Oilers are not going to get a high return)

Then u have Eberle with Eichel, & Okposo with O'Reilly
So Sam can then either be moved for a defenseman,
or back to Center & make the 3rd line a scoring unit

*if Edmonton would rather have Larsson, Fasching, or whoever...
then I'm happy to do that instead of Girgensons as well

I'll be honest I don't know a ton about Faulk's game but blindly looking at his contract, stats, term, etc... I probably would.

Faulk has a higher PPG as a defensemen than does Samson as a Forward.

It'd leave us AWFULLY bare at forward so I'd hope there was a plan to add a top 6 guy and not just plug Nylander or Bailey up there.
