If he goes into the season with out a new contract and is still a Sabre my head is going to hurt from all of the hot takes about what to do with him.

The only way I see that as a win for Buffalo is if they decided they're going to trade him at the deadline and he is having a monster year. The only issue with that is if they are in or right at a playoff position moving him is going to hurt

i think the offers are way too low right now. everyones trying to get him at a cut price. if he has a decent year they might be able to get a contending team to pay up, especially if they retain salary(celery).

Kane - Eichel - Eberle... I odn't know how I feel about that together.

Kane and Eichel are both passable defensive players but not "great" right now. Eberle is all offense. ROR and Okposo are much better defensive players and Sam is mostly all offense. I can see it.

Would depend on the defensive pairing I suppose.

I was talking more from an nhl in general standpoint. Certain days keep getting hyped up for a bunch of movement then nothing happens (last two trade deadlines, pre-trade freeze, post-trade freeze)

I have a buddy with an "in" with the Pegula's and was told this 10 months ago.

They wanted him gone by trade deadline, and Murray sitting on his hands was part of the reason he's not here.

Which is why I have a hard time believing there will be any extension talks
