If it wasn't for this damn draft.. I'd have turned it off about 5 minutes after the award show started.

This is actually two reasons, and both of them are so "granular" as to be just silly. Further, the subjectivity that goes into determining what a "High Danger Shot" is makes is such that its really meaningless for comparison, because there just ISNT a standard.

Lehner has a bad high danger sv%
Lehner went 0-8 in the shootouts

Oh yes
. That was when Def Leppard performed before the 2008 season kicked off.

Joe Elliott later said of the incident:
"Like most of my fellow Brits, I'd never seen it before until it was handed to me sideways by which time I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right. Whoops..."

Can't win a shootout if your shooters don't score either...

He was bad, I'll give you that. But it didn't fall just on him. Hard to have any confidence when you know that if you let in 1 your team is sunk.

Yes and he saved a higher volume of shots due to his higher save percentage. People are literally making up ilrevlvent advance stats to try and prove a point.

Every save from every area is just as important as their counterparts. Breaking down a save percentage proves nothing. It's just cherry picking and trying to find a number you like to discredit a player. First rule of stats, garbage in, garbage out.

If he has a worse high danger number but the same overall save percentage doesn't that mean other goalies let in more easy shots or does the NHL have some dumbass methodology for this? I would rather my goalie let in good scoring chances than letting in soft ones.

3 or 4 defensemen will probably be traded.
- Wetbandit1

More than that, they are taking like 12 or 14 guys and really only need 6. Most are better than AHL, so they have to move maybe 5-6 guys.

Goalies that save more shots from less dangerous areas are better goalies. They save shots more consistently, and don't let in garbage goals.

Hang on a sec....

Vegas took Schlemko from Sj over Brenden Dillon, with no deal?

And Engelland (a free agent) from Calgary over Shinkaruk?
That's f#cking stupid

How is it that those 2 teams didn't have to give anything up?!

The most they could have is 13 because they had to draft 9 and only get 4 "extra" roster players. They have to have 14 forwards and 3 goalies as well.
