This just in ... the big story this offseason that anyone who is someone never expected ... this story is more surprising than getting a lone onion ring in your french fries. This story is more unexpected than hitting the button on a vending machine for a soda and getting 2 sodas. Don't stop there ... Oh, no, we're just getting started. This story is comparable to the rare candy code in Pokemon Red. Think the secret entrance to Bowser's Castle in Super Mario World, and that's the realm we're in. The world hasn't seen something this ground breaking since Windows 95. This is no blue cheese, ranch mix up. This is the real deal. The whole guacamole. The wolf that howls at the full moon. That's right folks, Korbinian Holzer is back! He signed a 2 year contract extension today. A great day for him and his family! I predicted that the planets would align for this very moment just this past Wednesday. It's on page 1 on my second post if you don't believe me, but this isn't about me. It's about Holzer, and he's back with a vengeance! Make no mistake, Anaheim's homing in on the Stanley Cup.

Eh, I was just having some fun. I do confess I had some tea earlier, but it wouldn't be the first time people were intimidated by my noggin. I thought since this comment section was already buried I could let loose, but once again I prove to be too much to handle for the common pleb.

Well, I like the Holzer signing.

Not as a LONG term move, but just to get us through the first couple of months.

With the shoulder surgeries to Vatanen and Lindholm keeping them out for a month (or more), we have someone who can plug a hole, and who I gained some trust in over the last year.

Then, when those boys get back, and we further learn to trust Larsson and Petterson, poor ol' Korbinian can be sent to San Diego, and his approx. $1mil salary disappears from the cap. Hey, maybe they can even trade him for a pick. (But experience shows, you can't have too many defensemen....)

Yeah I've been waiting for peterson. I think he'll be better than megana. But we'll see. Marleau just signed with Toronto. Thank goodness. If we sign 2 or 3 depth fowards like yakupov we might be able to go with 4 lines like bruce boudreau did. A bonus to that way would be that we could bring sam steel up and put him on the fourth line. But Carlyle usually likes his 4th to be a checking line so its a very small chance steel, terry, soy, ect make the team next year. I like the miller signing. At least he has playoff experience. And since he's older there's not going to be any debate over who the number one is. Did any of you go to the prospect camp? Be interested to see what you guys thought about them.

Steel is the real deal. Had the pleasure of watching him play in the WHL Finals this year against Seattle.

Josh Mahura didn't look half bad either.

Would like to know how Turner Ottenbreit did at prospect camp. Big physical kid that plays the game with a lot of heart.

PS, Yakupuke would have been a terrible waste of a signing and cap space. He'll fit right in with the Avs.
