We both did..yet we managed to win 3 games in spite of it while you guys got swept. The Oilers were better than the Flames in every statistical category last year....except for you guys had the Lady Bing award winner..

They were? Every single category? Damn dude.

Edit: we led in minor penalties taken you lying sack of poop

What a fcking joke this!!! If Mcphee wasn't such a wussy, he could have had Dumba, Manson, DeHaan, Methot, Schmidt, J Johnson + he could have had a few NHL ready kids in Kulak & Reinhart. Now that would be a decent backend & a few players I would trade for to the tune of 1st rounder + A prospect.

Then why did Pitts get their cap & goalie situation solved for what a 2020 2nd round pick WTF!!!!!!! He could have taken Rust + get Fleury for pennies on the dollar.

He picks up a 35 year old plugger to move up a 9 spots in the draft when he could have had Dano???

Not impressed with that Vegas team. Anyone figure out what their cap hit is going to be?

- Kevin R

Yeah he could have picked all those players and maybe have been a fringe playoff team. If his goal was to eventually win a Stanley Cup, he's made the right moves so far. If he can maximize the return on Neal, Methot, and a couple other players he picked, being in the same division as Vegas might suck in five years.

Favorites? No, not really, but they are in the mix, on an outside chance.
- Larsson_fan

Both teams are in the same spot. If things go their way and their moves work out, they could potentially make a cup run. Sure, the Oilers are better but not enough to make an actual difference when you factor in how things actually play out in real life. All that matters is you make the playoffs and the right players get hot at the right time. Couple happen with either team.

Well for starters if the deals they had weren't worked out those teams very well would have protected a few of those guys....secondly I think there's more trades to come. So lets wait and see what the overall plan is. Team is bad as fook right now though haha.

The Oilers had 2 more wins than Calgary despite their terrible start...Flames were the better team from November on. With average goal tending in the playoffs the Flames are at least 2-2 heading back to Anaheim.

They can have all the pressure for next season though, its their last chance before they are capped out and lose all their depth, better do something

Whatever depth they have. Which isn't much.

No, we are not the same team as 2 and 3 years ago...not even close, you gays were way better.
- Larsson_fan

And our team was not the same team at the end of the year as we were at the start of last season, not even close

Soo, maybe taking the head to head matchups from 1 season isn't a good way to judge who is going to be the better team.

Also, for whatever reason, the Ducks have had our number. We matched up much better against teams that people thought were much better than the Ducks (Minnesota for example). Who knows what would have happened if the matchups had been different last year.

Serious question.

What do Oiler fans think McDavid is going to get for an extension?

My guess is either 8 x 9.7 million or 8 x 12.125 million--nothing in between. Look at Crosby's cap hit if you're wanting to know my line of thinking

I really hope that he gets the 12.125 mill

He has the entire NHLPA depending on him to raise the bar. He should get 11.5-12.5x8.

I could see the Flames not doing anything forbtrades over the next couple of days. But BT has been able to surprise before.

Number 1 goal first line RW (Nino or Neal)

Don't get caught u playing in the defensive trades, there is plenty of good free agents available

So our defense is a lot less physical without Engelland. Hope that gets addressed. Don't think we really have anyone in the system that plays a mean game either.

Got just under 20 mil and some work to do.

Starting with buying out (frank)ing Bouma.
