too much money IMO, cap space management is an issue for MTL with what they need - Symba007
Oshie is probably getting 5-6 years at 6.5. Likely too much for a 30 yr old coming off a career year playing with Backstrom and OV |

I suppose. What would galchenyuks contract be though? 4-5 mill per? - Brandon Smillie
4,5M via arbitration?
1 year to prove his worth. |

I had some high hopes for Scherbak. Maybe he could pull a Lekhonen and break out this year. I think the Habs are taking Timmins at 25. Just a feeling. |

Be patient, you never know.
EDIT : At his age, Pacioretty had 3 goals in 52 games as a Hab...probably would've called him a bust as well. |

I'm not sure either. But if he's a big a pushover at the negotiating table as he is on the ice....
jk
Not really. |

He has improved each year and I would hope that he may find his way to the 2nd line at some point in the next 3-4 years. A mix of being a really slim 18-20 year old probably hurt in the AHL as well as the fact that the Ice Caps aren't exactly the best team or an offensive powerhouse.
Verdict still out; he's certainly not future star but he can certainly be a serviceable 60+ point player in the future. |

first 2 years at 4.5M (what he would get in arbitration), last 4 years at 6M.
total 6 years for 33M, 5.5M on the cap just like Drouin |

60+ points puts him in the top 40 in scoring...so he's not a star? |

too much smoke....he is the main asset to go after a top 6 center....as long as they get a top 6 winger on the UFA market - Symba007
i just don't want to see Galchenyuk traded for a top-4 defenceman. the Hamonic rumours make no sense to me. |

I think if you draft a guy 3rd overall and you trade him away 4 years later you're (frank)ed in the head.
I get it when it's a bust situation like Yakupov where you just cut your losses and Galchenyuk isn't Crosby but he's still a pretty potent offensive player.
play him at (frank)in center and live with the fact that he doesn't know how to backcheck. |

Pacioretty had to basically take his development into his own hands because they were (frank)ing him up so badly. |
