So Pittsburgh GM sends their six-million-dollar goalie they don't want for a 2020 second-round pick and our awesome GM is chasing Jurco around the block for six weeks like a dog in heat. Can someone explain this? I didn't think so

I would have unprotected Kruger and
Seabrook.
Knowing that nobody in their right mind would take the Seabrook contract and therefore would take Kruger off our hands and TVR would still be a Hawk.

- Colbyboy

Would Seabrook have waived though?

Just heard the news.

That makes this team so much worse.

Salute to the best pro on the team. Hope he stays with the organization in some capacity.

I don't see it that way. If we had a trade in place for Kruger for whatever and Stan pulled out at the last minute, that's not good.
- walleyeb1

If the deal is for a player that Vegas was drafting tonight than it is possible the trade wouldn't be announced until tomorrow. Nobody really knows at this point, but I mean, what if the Hawks traded Kruger for a player that Vegas had not even picked yet...that would ruin the reveal.

Which would have triggered one of those trades; pick(s) going to LV.

Vegas could have totally taken Seabrook and gotten good offers - retained say $2-3m and flip him to a contender. Lot of GMs would love him at a lower price and Vegas is going to be able to eat that amount of salary for years.

^^^^^THIS

And, LeBrun tweeted this morning:
Whatever players VGK are flipping in a 3-way, those trades won't be announced until Thursday. Those players first have to be part of reveal

So much more to come over the next few days

This burns me up. The Pens now got a free 6 million dollar in open cap. We couldn't give players away without adding a picks/players/prospects. A friggin 20202 pick? Really?

LV did end up with 13D. So those 4 non-mandatory by position were all D. Look for a lot of movement tomorrow. Perhaps the 'Hawks moving Kruger for Schmidt. Though he's a LH shot.

They could not leave Seabs unprotected, because of the NMC...those players HAD to be protected. Now that the rose is off the bloom, the depth has been depleted and the core is fractured, I fear we'll find that Bowman is a liability at GM.

If you had the Jennifer Garner card, it would have been 30,000 miles. Pay attention!

Almost bed time.

They are not allowed to retain any salary on players they picked in expansion draft.
