Bill Daly says the NHL still has to evaluate whether Marian Hossa can be placed on LTIR next season. No timetable for that decision.

Evaluate?!? Fine...you do that.

Legit health issue that he's been fighting for several years reaches a point where the treatment could kill him. Only recourse is to stop wearing the equipment...therefore to stop playing the game.

Should take about 5 minutes to "evaluate".

While you're at it Bill, what's you opinion again regarding clubs trading LTIR players that will never lace 'em up again...simply for cap relief?

What if this happens, the Blackhawks sign a player to a contract that starts the 2nd day of the season? Hossa goes on LTIR, and then the player signed to the contract becomes an active player.

A number of trades held until after the VGK expansion draft. Heard on Sirius XM NHL that they expect a number of trades will be announced as soon as the freeze is lifted

Sure puts things in perspective--- all the BS criticizing we lay on the players when they dont live up to our unimportant expectations--- they are just people like us--

Ironic that this fitting tribute to Bickell was aired tonight--- and then the Hossa news today-- Hawks lost a couple high quality people there--

Same here. I got to golf with the big guy before MS struck and he is one of the most humble and genuine guys you will ever meet!! Could hit drives 320 + too!! Just an awesome guy!

I thought the exact same thing. $20,000! Are you frigging serious? That's almost more insulting than it is generous. Leave it up to the NHL to screw up a great moment. I wouldn't be surprised if Bettman wanted to apply $10,000 of that money to the Blackhawks cap and $10,000 of it to the Hurricanes cap. What an A-hole.
