PE, you keep saying that, and I'll keep pointing to NBC ratings as evidence that the league wouldn't conspire against its Chicago franchise.
The 3 highest Final series average ratings since 2000 (I think it was - I don't have the article on hand) were the three Blackhawk finals - 2010, 2013 and 2015.
And - 5 of the 10 highest rated individual Final games were the deciding games in Chicago series: Habs in 1971 and 1973, and the deciding games in the three most recent Blackhawk championships.
There is no way that the league - as incompetent as it may seem - would go against the best interests the it's only US network partner. - StLBravesFan
I will go in between here. Bettman and the other wonks may push against CHI, but it is NBC who will enter the room, sit next to Bettman, grab what's left of his nuts and say, "we want ratings Gary, are we clear with this, sir?"

It would have been more interesting to hear your comments had the Hawks chose another direction after Cup #2 - and let Kane, Toews, Crawford and Seabrook walk for nothing.
