I would keep him, especially in light of the Hossa situation. His defensive ability will be needed more than ever. Of course, if one values the cap relief more than his skill...

With Vegas having Eakin, Bellemare, Kruger (probably), Haula & W. Karlsson... that is a lot of 3rd line shutdown/PK type role players; you would have to think 1-2 get flipped.

Karlsson is the only one I would want at current cap hit. Haula is now making $2.75m, so eh. Eakin and Bellemare are both meh to me, but the former also has too high a cap hit.

Very unlikely.

Schmidt is an RFA and is due for a nice raise. I'd expect him to get a salary similar to that of Kruger now, so we don't save anything. Unless it would mean that Hammer is on his way out, in which case, I don't think makes much sense.

Can anyone explain why just gave away TVR, doesn't make any sense to me???? I can't believe nobody was willing to give us anything for him.
