I don't watch any Junior hockey so I'm pretty ignorant to this... But, what is with everyone going crazy for Nico or Nolan? We were told for a year or two this would be a weak class. So if we could package #2 for something this year plus future #1s then why not? I know it's not guaranteed but it seems like we were forced to love these guys because everyone else was so weak. Why not shoot again for next year and still grab some assets? Now there's rumblings of other players who are #1 on certain boards that will fall to 5 or 6.
- ShadowsX42

It mainly comes down to this: Nico and Nolan are surefire NHL top 6 forwards. You hope they are 1st line players, but, at worst, they are top notch 2nd line guys. After that, each and every guy has question marks and could be a star, but could also just turn out to be average players or even total busts. If you are going to give up one of the 2 sure things in this draft, you need a boatload coming back in the deal.

A weak class refers to the players in the draft as a whole. That doesn't mean there aren't very good players in the draft. The Flyers need a #1 center for the future. If they feel that the two players at the top can fill that need then they should take one of them regardless of how the overall draft class is ranked.

Maybe this is me being optimistic but after this draft i don't expect the Flyers to be this high again.

I take my future center at #2 and build my team

If it makes you feel better, I got the Bioshock remastered games for free...because I am a cool PC gamer! I do own all consoles except Xbox One (traded it in when the blu-ray drive stopped working) and the Switch (Zelda runs better on my PC then the Switch), but buying console games is so expensive compared to PC.
- Glak18

I would love to play Zelda, had no clue it could be played on PC. My PC gaming was pretty limited to Age of Empires and Diablo series growing up. It does add up, but the bioshock collection remastered on sale was like $20 I think when usually it was like 20 per game or even more on their store. Been thinking of grabbing a PS4 for some of their exclusives but god it's tough to fit gaming with work and everything else to do it.

Make sense. Like most of us, I want to win now so getting Nolan (who should be able to step in and produce) would be awesome. If Nico falls to us (who I originally wanted for his pure skill) I would consider trading for future #1s or a young top 6 if someone is willing to pay up. Either way this roster will look the best that it has in years! And even if it's another miserable season filled with false hope, we have young exciting players to watch and enjoy!

Where are you guys in terms on your thoughts of Giroux and Voracek? I feel if we draft Nolan Patrick, while Provorov and Konecny come into their own quick. This should create more rope for those two to hang them selves with. A team of Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Couturier, Gostisbehere, Provorov, Konecny and Patrick should push us back into the playoffs and contend in the near future, right?
- SuperSchennBros

We should see a huge improvement on the forwards but the big question is tending and defense. If Amac is eating top minutes again and Neuvirth is our #1 it's going to be a rough season.

Exactly what he said. The term "weak draft" is just a buzzword now a days meaning no sure fire generational talent that is basically a lock to become one of the best players in the league. Draft eligible players are ranked with a grading scale and when you have more players in a higher tier going later in round 1 or in later rounds, it's considered a deeper draft. The tag has more to do with later rounds than it does with top picks.

This tends to happen for a couple years after a generational draft and many great players have come out of them.

if the rumors of all these side deals that vgk knights have not to/pick players they could end up with a few 1st round picks this draft, but it doesn't make sense for them to trade a few 1st round picks for 1 guy as they will need several guys from the draft to start building because the garbage thatt is exposed in the expansion draft won't cut it to be productve imo

AMAC playing a lot of minutes is possible but I don't see Nuevy as the #1. It would just be irresponsible of a GM to put that guy out there as the #1 after the horrible season he had and the injury history. I believe in Hexy.

Agreed, can't see many more opportunities like this in the Flyer's near future. Farm is stocked, make the pick.

The scouts would have to make a strong case for someone like Glass or Suzuki being better than Patrick in the long run for me to make the trade.

Agreed. They would be smart to amass as many 1st rounders as possible IMHO. Then take as many D as possible since they go at a premium in this day and age, meaning they could be traded at the TDL for more picks next year. I would also draft forwards that can score goals over defensive/two-way players. Make it entertaining even if you lose a bunch of games. Goals will keep people coming to games.

I bought Zelda Breath of the Wind for my Wii U, great game, but not as groundbreaking as people make it out to be. I also play it on my PC using an emulator called CEMU. After every update to the emulator Zelda plays better and better. The reason why I prefer it on PC is because you're not locked into 30 fps and when the frames drop on consoles it becomes unplayable for me.

I recommended a PS4 Pro to my sister because she has an OLED 4K tv, but if you don't have a 4K already then a regular PS4 would be just fine. The Pro version does have a small loading time increase, minor graphical enhancements and mostly looks better due to HDR. Personally it's not worth it unless you already own a 4K tv/monitor with HDR.

I just bought Horizon Zero Dawn on sale and it should arrive today. The game alone is worth picking up a PS4. Plus I recommend Nioh as well. Both have tons of content and hours to play and can be played at your leisure. That's why I picked them up.

I'm with you. If I'm Vegas I take players, I don't group picks to move up to select a player. Especially not in this draft where the talent evens out quickly. If anything I take top picks in future drafts.

From the way they're conducting this expansion draft, instead of being a mediocre team from the jump (secure from the blue line back and questionable scoring up front) they're going to be bad for several years with top end picks in the lottery.

If someone promotes Suzuki as better than Patrick he quietly gets fired before July 1.

If they trade back even a couple picks they had better be right about the player they select because that's the kind of move that could be career ending.

Nico could very well end up a winger and Patrick's one of those does everything well but maybe nothing great guys.

Since neither are locks for NHL 1C, I'd be willing to listen to offers -- especially have something ready in case the player they really want gets taken by NJ.

I would like to revise my stance on U2.

After giving them a fairer listen that ever before, they're a very good band. They have a handful of a dozen or so songs that are really good/great (Where the Streets Have No Name, I Will Follow, Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday). I still think they're overrated, but I also think that Bono should be President of the Earth.

If they also like another player almost as much and are getting a good package to move down I don't see a problem with that. It just better include 6th overall and 2018 pick.

I was thinking Colorado might want to jump Dallas to get the D they want. If Heiskanen and Makar go 2-3 we could trade back and still get one of Patrick or Heischier.

That would be a crazy way for the draft to fall.
