Again, Jagr and Talbot.

Jagr - to me the Pen stench had worn off.

Talbot - meh not a key part.

No reason for the Flyers to pay a premium for any stop gap player. They're not close to being a contending team.

Exactly, which is why I can't understand this trade talk. How does James Neal or MAF help us now? Why even consider it as part of a deal for #2? The talk is you can have Raanta or Mrazek for a 3rd.

Now, I do get what having 3 additional first round picks means. I just don't know if one early, one mid, and one late first rounder is something im looking to trade second overall for. Plus you can't assume their pick next year will be top 5.

If the top players in this draft were defensemen, maybe id consider it. But it's two top flight centers and then "the rest". Make the pick.

Talbot scored I think like 21 goals that year and was big on our PK.

Edit: I don't want to make the deal, but those 2 guys were pretty good for us.

He wasn't the 1LW or 1G that people are saying Neal and *GAG* Flower will be.

The way I look at it...we are talking about all the players in the NHL that teams are willing to cut loose for nothing. Now people are talking about trading higher valued assets to get them.

one thing for sure is that hex tall won't trade away young assets, players or picks for aged veterens, he has been true to his word and i just don't get any feeling he is going to steer away from that so trading #2 for some veteran players will not happen, the reality is neuvy and stolly are our goalies next year, why is that so bad? there gonna split time while stolly gets some experience

The beat writers are going to be 10x more insufferable if we get Fluery.

We lose one game to the Pens and they're going to start wondering out loud if he's throwing games.

Except Neuvy is kind of injury prone. I don't like him as the vet you pair with a rookie.

I'm pretty sure he did that when he played the Flyers in the playoffs. It's the only explanation for his play.

I don't think so.

I think we will get one of Raanta, Pickard or Mrazek. Maybe they send one of the extra 3rd rounders? Maybe a 3rd and 4th since they have extras? Leier+3rd rounder?

Just think they get a goalie that can be a number 1

It's not just about MAF and Neal. It's also about picking up at least a top 5 pick next year... maybe 3....maybe 1st overall in addition to the 6 this year. And it helps ice a better team this year.
- youarewrong

Or it could be 10th, 15th, 25th..... you can't trade a top 2 pick assuming a pick you'll get in return will be the same the following year.

I despise James Neal. Want nothing to do with him. I probably hated him more than Crosby and Malkin in the 2012 series.

So so far the names we have seen for Vegas:

Nashville: Neal
Penguins: Fluery
Wild: Huala
Toronto: Liepsic
Anaheim: Stoner(get Theodore in side deal)

Can anyone else add from things the have seen. not Ek but reputable guys?

Hehe, I believe this draft is more like the Taylor/Tyler one. Both good players, top-line players... but I'm not sure teams are gonna go full tilt to land one of the top two picks to get them.

I'm sure Vegas will try, since it would be a PR coup for them, but likewise, it would be a PR nightmare for Hexy to trade out, so it would take a pretty obscene offer (over and above what Nico/Nolan are worth) to get anything done. Vegas only has draft picks and castoffs at their disposal... don't think they could muster it.

Even worse...

The Flyers trade #2 and get Vegas's 1st round next year
Vegas finishes the regular season as the worst team
3 new teams that barely miss the playoffs win the lottery
How's that for karma!

I have seriously seen 12 year old girls do pull ups. Do you realize how weak you have to be not to be able to do 1 freakin' pull up?

Very weak.
