Could you imagine? haha

I'm now convinced that the Pens are going to get a player back (or good deal on one) for exposing Fleury

- YouMeAndDupuis9

Bob McKenzie (who isnt always right) is reporting that the Pens will be sending a pick Vegas' way to esnure the taking of Fleury.

He's also reporting that Minny made a deal with LV to take RFA Haula and a pick instead of taking any of Dumba/Scandella/Staal in draft. So if thats true we can forget about Staal or Dumba in a Pens uni, as many were wanting/speculating around here...

McPhee is in the driver's seat here but I feel like if we didn't try to send our first round pick to get a player via Vegas (Manson, Dumba, etc) then Rutherford messed up. Who knows if we tried or not but I just hope there wasn't some dumb "gentleman's agreement"..

Yeah I really hope he at least tried dangling a 1st to LV to get a a quality D-man back from them. I'd have no problem with losing a 1st for a proven top 4 guy that fits the Pens system.

again, that makes sense especially since this all went down in Feb. Question is, how high of a pick was it?

probably would take more than a Penguins 1st to get a top 4 D here

There is no possible simple little gif that exists that could possibly illustrate greatness on that level. We simply do not have technology that advanced. Gay Boyd is EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE.

A search of Clark County, Nevada public records shows a deed to a Mark Fleury that was recorded yesterday.

I know its not him, but a funny coincidence nonetheless.

I'm really not into getting Duchene. Anyone else feel this way?

Just depends on what would go the other way. I'm much more interested in Barrie. But it also depends on costs to acquire Dutchy

Hosea may have to retire because he is allergic to the equipment. If only I could find something at work I was allergic too......... I mean as long as they kept having to pay me.
- Dcoms

So Chicago may actually get out from under Hossa's contract...

Literally the weakest LTIR excuse I've ever seen. He's allergic to hockey equipment after playing hockey for 30 years. I'm a little upset if the league approves this. Oh ya he just happens to get allergic when his salary falls to $1 million/year.

The only thing making me feel ok with hossa's retirement is the hawks are actually losing a guy that is worth 5.3 million a year in salary. 26 goals and a really good 2 way game. I'd trade for Hossa if he was willing to still play which I'm guessing he's not since his salary is locked in at $1 million/year.

Seeing chicago papers cite chris pronger. But that guy was legitimately concussed LTIR.

Ya hawks are idiots. Why can't they just give him what letang had at the start of this year that gets better when the playoffs start.

Apparently VGK is getting Shea Theodore to not take Vatanen or Manson.

It is definitely worth investigating but I'm sure you aren't an expert on progressive skin issues.

Yeah, even though he's ageing, they are not better off without him on the ice. From a financial standpoint, sure, but not on the ice.

I mean it will help cap wise to an extent. LTIR will reduce cap flexibility and I don't think they will find the same impact Hossa provided at that cap price.

Obviously I'm not, but I do know behavioral science and bayesian probability.

When

A) Player only gets 1 million per year in cash
b) Team is in serious cap problems

And the player suddenly say I'm LTIR everything points to a very weak condition.

I was thinking in that price range and wingers that they could go after someone like Oshie...but I dont think that's much of an upgrade, if at all. I don know enough about the Hawks roster/cap needs to really say much about how they should spend cap space. To me it seems like losing Saad has hurt them a fair bit.

What makes it a weak condition other than your lack of knowledge on the topic?

They would still need to make a significant move to be able to get an Oshie, Radulov, or Kovalchuk.
