i am expecting to be underwhelmed. I mean there will certainly be moves and some interesting trades but really not expecting anything earth shattering. - Queenie_5_hole
I agree, for the most part underwhelming but I think there will be a few 3 way surprises though. Always surprises in a 3 way... I personally believe, there shouldn't be side deals or encouraging allowed with respect to selection. Kind of pick who you pick, then on draft day like anything else, after LV list comes out, then they can trade if they want. I get that it's not as exciting, and in some ways, may not be fair to teams leaving players exposed, but GM's knew it was coming, and voted for the expansion. Agree? Disagree? |

Part of the issue is that there's only one expansion club. Typically it's two or more and the expansion draft is more of an actual draft and less of this paper chase. That's what has fueled the side deals. |

That is a cute narrative.

He had a rough season no doubt but the idea he had a poor work ethic and didn't try to dig himself out of the rough start is an extremely lazy narrative. - Feds91Stammer
If that's the case, they're doing a great job of spreading that narrative by getting a guy like Custance to parrot it. |

I'm now convinced that the Pens are going to get a player back (or good deal on one) for exposing Fleury |

Interesting....I was listening to a radio interview earlier today, Jesse Granger a Vegas sports reporter covering the Knights was mentioning how popular MAF already is in Vegas fans conversations. He is winning over the fans and reporters already.
It all seems to align, it been reported MAF waiving his movement contract for Vegas ONLY, GMJR said he had no worries exposing certain players....
Who knows what will happen, it has been pretty exciting with this whole expansion draft. I could see GMJR swinging a deal with George and getting a defence man or back up goalie sent back....but I think that would involve the Pens first rounder also going....but with the Pens doing well signing NCAA players...sometimes those equal a first round pick. Who knows but its pretty exciting... |

I dont think it would even cost that much, we just need to outbid what Minnesota will pay to keep him from being selected.
Manson or Vatanen would be better, imo.

NHL Network indicated Manson & Vatanen are not available during their expansion mock draft tonight. They must know that Anaheim has a deal with Vegas. |

You cannot argue with someone (Boyd is Steamer), that cannot be in his mind incorrect.
Shots on goal is a garbage stat & forwards are useless after 28. Both those statements are ridiculous, & said by that individual. Unless you want to troll the troll, then any information you offer will be ignored & twisted so a question will be answered by another question - straw man arguement a plenty.
Don't waste your time trying to educate ignorant people that don't want to learn anything. Troll them all you want though. - Aussiepenguin

This is what I have been thinking all along. Vegas does not need any enticement to take Fleury - not only is he the best goalie available, but he has a great personality. Fans can rally behind a guy like Fleury. Many hockey players / goalies have the personality of a cardboard cutout. Language barriers also become problematic for some. |

The deal for Vatanen and Manson to be protected is going to be nuts.... - The-O-G
Its been reported that the deal is one of Theodore, Montour, or Larsson in exchange for Vegas not taking Vatanen or Manson. |

Hey they can flip any one of those 3 this way too. But going by age alone I am pretty sure they are going to have onto them. So who is the selection then Rakell or Silferburg? The Ducks could easily replace them with JVR from Toronto who are looking for another impact dman which the Ducks have more than enough of. |

There is no possible simple little gif that exists that could possibly illustrate greatness on that level. We simply do not have technology that advanced. Gay Boyd is EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE. |

MacKenzie tweeted they think the Pens and Vegas made a deal a long time ago where the Pens sent a draft pick to Vegas to make sure Fleury was taken. Also Friedman reporting Vegas has told teams they are keeping Fleury. Sounds like McFee might have used his leverage to get a pick out of Rutherford he didn't need to give up. |

That would make sense. After seeing MAF in the playoffs its almost a no brainer for LV to take him but back in Feb maybe not so much. |

This is my thought all along. They did this deal a while ago and we are giving another asset. McPhee would be screwing his team by not using the every ounce of leverage in these deals. They'd be firing his ass if he didn't.
Who knows at this point, but I believe MAF agreed to waive for Vegas several months ago. |

Wasn't it reported he waived for Vegas in Feb? That also lines up with the report his wife was checking out houses and schools towards the end of the season.
What time is all this going down? Will all trades and picks be announced tonight? |
