Darn our first was a bust, but it feels better because the guy we didn't pick is kicking ass with Vegas instead of Philly... - archromat
No, but it'll be less painful in another conference with a team we will play less and not a hated rival....
Conversely if Vegas wants to make a crazy offer for the first overall, I'd listen... |

Vegas loading on D... Kovy could be going there after all |

If Vegas really wants Patrick, I think Shero takes a look at the extra 1st round picks they have & players they extracted off other teams rosters
For example
What if Las Vegas offered their #6 , next years first & a defensemen like Matthew Dumba?

Although this is a specific example, people have been talking about other trade-ups involving guys like MacKinnon.
A trade-up from 6 to 1 most years would garner a heavy price... a trade-up from 6 to 1 this year not as hefty (show me all the charts you want, Tippett or Vilardi vs. Hischier is not anywhere near the difference we had between Zacha and Hanifin or Zacha and Marner). (of course I wanted Provorov but... )
Therefore, Vegas wouldn't even send Mathew Dumba and #6 our way for our first overall. Colorado sure wouldn't send Barrie (as overrated as he is) or MacK our way... they wouldn't even do a one for one MacKinnon for #1, let alone a trade-up.
Our first overall is not worth huge money bags this year. In fact, two years ago, I would have given Toronto a Henrique or Severson just to trade up to #4 for Marner. This year, if NJ was #6 and Vegas was #1, I wouldn't give them Henrique or Severson (back then, their values are both diminished now) for the pick swap.
Even if Vegas sent Dumba and #6 our way, I don't know that I'd take it. I think NJ needs an exciting forward prospect with all star potential and I think Hischier is that guy, even if he's not exactly a high chance (more likely to be a standard first liner)... Tippett (the likely guy left), Vilardi, Mittelstadt (or him), even if Makar or Heiskanen end up dropping to 6, they're all going to be very good players... but the Devils sort of need this. |

Mueller's development was stunted by DW, during TMac's tenure. Contrary to some NJ Devils fan's miss-guided beliefs, DeBoer had no part in the Mueller situation. Fact is that Heed & Ryan were both ahead of Mirco with the 'Cuda. Demelo Is a youngster, doing just fine, plenty of ice-time in crucial moments when he played. Was #7 behind Schlemko & Dillon, but had DeBoer's trust.
As far as Your #1pick is concerned....Mirco came the same route to the league as another Swiss player who will be joining him in NJ very soon.

What were they thinking? Seriously, did they not do any kind of internal survey before putting these out? Haven't seen one person who thinks they look good. |

They aren't good. But after seeing Nashville and Edmontons I guess it could have been way worse. |

Their alright it's tough to switch from such a solid jersey but these will grow on my. I wonder what they did with the socks and the pants. |

I'm not sure they will change. Didn't CCM still make them even when Reebok was doing the jerseys? |

I like the new jerseys. Just a little sleeker and I like the new striping pattern on the arms. They're really not that different, while I can totally understand liking the old jerseys better, some of the fan OUTRAGE I've seen online seems a little absurd. |

I think people panicked after they saw the Nashville jersey. I know I hoped ours weren't as bad. |

The white on the sleeves just looks out of place with nothing on the bottom of the torso to balance it. |

They removed stripes from the bottom and slightly changed the arm stripes. Especially in the context of the full uniform, they simply are not that different. I refuse to believe those two changes took it from "iconic, one of the best in the league" to "garbage." I'm not saying I love these but the outrage is silly. |

holy profanity, the new jersey is TERRIBLE. good grief. it's not about not being a fan of change.. just look at it. who's idea was it to have those white stripes so big on the arms? It looks beyond plain without the stripe on the bottom. It's like Shero just wanted to make a point that this wasn't Lou's team anymore. We get it.. but you didn't have to make the jersey look like a long-sleeved red t-shirt with a Devils logo slapped on it. terrible. so disappointing. Some of the jerseys look good, but NJ is in the bottom 5 for me. what a disappointment. |

it looks like a freaking practice jersey. holy yuck. now I just wana buy an official Rbk jersey instead of the knockoff so I can at least have a legit Devils jersey that's attractive. |
