i think it would cost #17 plus #59 + a 2018 2nd to move up to #12. so we would have to be getting a damn good prospect.
the prices to move up are expensive. - Tumbleweed
Not worth it this year.
Pretty much from 6- 17.....all players could be interchanged. |

Corrado qualified to be exposed, so this is not accurate. Leafs had more than two forwards that qualified not including Fehr. - winsix
Leafs needed 2 forwards and 1 defenceman. They already had enough defencemen, making Corrado expendable.
Fehr is one of the forwards who meets the 40/70 + under contract next year requirements.
Ben Smith is the other guy.
Nobody else qualifies (from our list of unprotected forwards).

There are two reasons I think McPhee trades for Fehr. First, Leafs traded for him, so they thought he had some value. He didn't play, and won't play, so the value is somewhere else and Lou is pretty sharp. Second, McPhee has twice previously traded for Fehr. - winsix
McPhee's boy.. I said it yesterday.. I hope we are correct. |

Last week, me and RJ got into an argument about the best place to have a beer before a Bruins game.
RJ took off my shoe and beat me with it.

I wonder what the cost of acquiring LA's 11OA would be without trading away the 17OA?
Obviously more would need to be added, but gotta believe that they would kinda horny to dump a poopty contract or two in a supposedly "weak draft" and when LV is sucking up picks from other teams.
If LA ever wanted to rid themselves of brutal contracts like Brown's or Gaborik's NOW IS THE TIME!
Think ARI and DET last season in the Datsyuk trade at the draft. |

Agreed.
I'm generally a bigger fan of moving down. Better value imo. |

It's a pretty dreadful place, unless you like sports, food, beer, museums, history, shopping, nightlife, the ocean, looking at young women and beer. |

I don’t think we should be taking on a poopty long-term deals. Even real poopty short-term ones for that matter.
We’re getting stuck with a $4M-$5M bonus penalty this year. I’d rather see us move lupul and find a way to get Horton off the books early.
If there is a det/az deal to be made, I think we’d be det in that deal.

Remember, it is often the deal that is not made, that turns out to be the best deal. |

I agree for the most part. Things could change - depending on what trades shake loose. LV could hold a few picks that might be available, if there is a player Leafs covet like Liljegren, you never know. Big time caution though, moving up to get Biggs a few years ago was one of the worst moves (of many bad ones) that Burke made.
