I think this is the likely scenario.
Maybe there is a bigger trade, but without knowing what side deals are in place it’s almost impossible to put together a realistic guess. - Tumbleweed
The side deals with teams not protecting d-men of interest will be what will be the focus of the Leafs. Ducks likely have a deal for Vegas to not pick Manson or Vatanen, if not Lou will want one of them. I think that Vegas has a deal with LA to take Dustin Brown - and Vegas gets a first rounder for next year. They need to get to the Salary floor anyway and LA is desperate to unload that contract.

To TOR: Tanev
To VAN: TOR shows VAN the secret to winning the lottery - storm88
Ask the Oilers, luckily for the canucks they may have many chances while Benning/Linden/current ownership running (ruining) the team |

Vatanen, 2nd for lupul, 1st, bracco, Nielsen, and vegas agrees to take fehr
Vegas trades our 1st to Anaheim for bieksa
So complicated. my head just exploded. - Tumbleweed

Bracco or Kapp? - Byfuglien Ate Me
I dont see Kap as a top 6. |

What would the Leafs need to add to the 17thOA to acquire the Avs' 4thOA?
Unless the Avs are thinking about Makar, drafting any other D with 4OA is a waste.
There appears that there could be a few solid D available at the 17OA i.e. Foote, Valimaki, Brannstrom or Liljegren.

I'm thinking that beyond what we already know, there probably won't be any deals unless announced. ANA will lose one of those D, TOR will lose Rychel or Lipstick, etc. |

Dumba is a bit overrated imo.
Think Phaneuf. (bad decision making, open ice hits will get less and less etc.) - MaximusAurelius
Nah I dont see that.
But Phaneuf in a 3-4 spot was pretty good. |

That would be tough, but the side deal with the Ducks will be very interesting. If it does not involve a player, Ducks have only 6 picks this year no firsts, 2 seconds. Next year Ducks have all their picks except 7th rounder (Leafs)

If Phaneuf accepted to waive, Vegas picked him and traded him to another team for half salary.... they'd get tons in return. |

Exactly...Really hoping Klim Kostin slips to 18. As Frenchie said, the Bruins wouldn't draft him anyway |

I'm all about best player available, but we are so thin on LW, matter of fact wing in general, I expect them to 100% pick a forward.
McAvoy, Carlo, Lauzon, Zboril, Lindgren and a few other D prospects. That pool is pretty well stocked.
I guess you could take those two out, but my point is that they are young defensemen |

If McPhee plays his cards right, LV could be a pretty good team with loads of prospects/picks.
Or it could be just another meh team (one of 10 in the league already) with loads of prospects/picks. |

Dude.
Dumba is 23 in July and has been trending upward steadily while playing behind Suter and Spurgeon, with Scandella and Brodin in the picture.
His age, experience and contract control fit PERFECTLY in the Leafs' timeline. He'll be 25/26 years old, just entering his prime, when 34, 16 and 29 have been in the league for a few seasons and are ready to take the next steps toward contention. - As_I_See_It
