Tim , you equate the Habs to the Bengals ??? Really , please enlighten me as to what the Bengals have won , like how many Super Bowls ? its been 26 years since they've played in a championship game maybe liken the Habs to the Yankees with all their History or the Lakers or the Celtics

That's where you lost me sorry !

Thanks for the stats ... they illustrate my point perfectly.

We're not going to get within sniffing distance of the Cup until we fix this serious deficiency. In this salary cap era, it's now next to impossible to build a winner without being very solid when drafting and developing our own players.

EDIT: Also what is Timmins fascination of always picking in American colleges? Don't we produce any good players in Canada? Last time I checked, Canadians were the best in the world.

To be honest I don't think he picked there in the last few seasons any more than the other teams do...

Here's what he picked from American Colleges since he's been here:

2004: J.T. Wyman (4th), Jon Gleed (7th)
2005: Philippe Paquet (7th)
2006: David Fischer (1st)
2007: Ryan McDonagh (1st), Max Pacioretty (1st), Joe Stejskal (5th), Andrew Conboy (5th), Scott Kishel (7th)
2008: Danny Kristo (2nd), Steve Quailer (3rd), Patrick Johnson (7th)
2009: Louis Leblanc (1st), Mac Bennett (3rd), Mike Cichy (7th)
2010: Jarred Tinordi (1st)
2011: Josiah Didier (4th), Colin Sullivan (7th)
2012: none
2013: Michael McCarron (1st)
2014: Hayden Hawkey (6th)
2015: none
2016: Casey Staum (5th)

2 out of 21 successes... not bad.

Is Jake Evans considered a college draftee, or was he drafted and then decided to go to Notre Dame? Hes been great in the NCAA.

If all these rumours are True, the Knights are gonna have 7-8 1st round picks. Too bad for them it is a crappy draft.

He said American Colleges, Evans was drafted out of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (Ontario College Hockey)

He still has one year left in the NCAA. He had a good season last year with 42 points in 40 games. Not saying he's a sure shot, but he has a good last season I expect the Habs to at least sign him and see where it goes. Not bad for a 7th round pick

Heard Dany Dubé say yesterday that he wouldn't be that much surprised to see the Habs not re-sign Markov. Said that he's not getting younger and there is a strong chance he would start struggling on the second half of the season, where you prepare for the playoffs. Also said that usually teams tend to mimic what they see from the Starley Cup champians, and the Penguins showed you can win with a suspect defense.

The Penguins may have an ordinary defense, but they have guys who can score goals up front and not play like pussies. Also, I guess you can add the fact they have guys like Crosby and Malkin, who are, you know, kinda special players.

If they don't re-sign Markov, I hope the Habs have a great plan to replace him

They will announce the team during their award show...with announcing a few players between awards.
