I cracked an imperial stout. probably not the best idea on a work night. Only 1 work day left tho. I took my annual vacay for draft weekend. I might get so lit tonight that I dream of DAL actually accepting a Tanev for 3OA. Or, on last home game of the season, Hank hands over the C to Magma

That was my take for AZ not buying to send out their 1st rounders. Mentioned Sabers bought from Habs so not as hot to do. Wings in world of hurt.

But Isles, Bolts, and Oil are valid option's to play against for JB to swing a Tanev trade. It all starts with what will the Stars do for me though.

Don't worry about JB on trades he can sell just fine as you saw with last TDL. Overpays on buys sometimes. But don't need to just dream on getting 30A for Tanev deal. JB can drive a hard bargain on this. He's got other options as well. Many teams want to buy top in their prime D with great contracts and no one is really selling that.

So that's the market and he can sell high. If not, stand pat and wait until next season. Makes no difference to teams forturnes over what the buyers need in winning now.

I know making a good trade and leverage is a strange concept to a Flames fan. It's what I would charge for trading within the division. Canucks don't need to sell to Oil. So if they want to buy then overpay they must.

Can't see why you don't get that concept. Trades are not solely based about value for value but one of position and opportunity.

Anyway, that post you clued out on was saying Isles were better trading partner between the two. Oil in addition to being in division have worse draft pick and overeral prospects. All they got of interest really is JP.

Interesting if that happens. I like Gudbrandson, but if Edler and Tanev are not moving, I would be fine with another top 10 pick.
Glass or Vilardi at 5 and Liljegren at 10 would be a decent haul this draft.
In the past, I have not been a fan of Liljegren, but have since watched about 3 hours of tape on him. This kid can skate, walk the line and shoot the puck. He does seem to make poor decisions at times but should be able to overcome that issue.
