Leafs suck. 50 years without a cup.

Horton can carry Matthews cup....

If they do, great. Highly unlikely, especially without picking dumba/scandella
- neem55

I guess itll come down to what kind of player they want. Boucher is a better point getter than gaunce for sure. If they want a defensive 4C gaunce fits that.
Can we all just pray to the hockey gods that LV takes chaput?

But then I can't call him Chapoopy. Lets all agree on Megna.

JB seems less then trilled about Glass , I'm of the feeling that he wants Vilardi or Petterson
- onesmallleap

what makes you suggest that?
He invited glass for a follow up interview after all. Petersson as well.
Havent seen anything to say he's down on glass, please elaborate on this

In a perfect world I'd like Makar & either of Mittelstadt Glass or Vilardi Pettersen in order. That requires a Tanev trade. The C's i can change my order on depending on the moment. Lol
- Nighthawk

I agree. Makar 1st then a C, glass preferably.

Hopefully there may be other ways to get any extra pick outside of tanev. Perhaps 33, 55 and a prospect?

Other than Tanev only forcing Edler is left.
The rest r kids & future core.
Some say Sutter but he is more valuable to us than trading him.
LE is going nowhere unless he waives on his own accord.
We r not trading picks IMO

Makita, my apologies. Perhaps I was a little too harsh earlier on.

Not trying to make your job any harder or any of the other mods' for that matter, I simply flat out disagree with some of the ridiculous Tanev valuations. Weak draft or not, Tanev alone is not worth the 3OA.

- As_I_See_It

Your opinion, and there are others here that would agree. Bet you also didn't think Burrows or Hansen would fetch what they did either.

What really did it for me was the bumhole comment you posted about "collective brain damage and delusion in the Nucks' thread" to try and get the rest of the leafs blog to jump on, which is in itself ok, until you decided to pump your chest in here.

Are these statements as accurate as your statements about "Laine being the better pick over Matthews" (who will win the Calder by a landslide) or "we may have seen Matthews at his best already?" (who potted 40G in his rookie season on a rebuilding team)
- As_I_See_It

I am allowed to prefer whatever pick I like and I like laine. Mathews is a fine player but I like laine better. You can love mathews if you want.
Btw later after the draft many GMs said they would have picked laine #1oa.

Mathews may not have as good a season again, none of us know that. It may very well be his best ever.

You seem so unhappy here in the canucks room, time to leave

Leafs in tough for the playoffs next year.
TBL & FLA both will be much improved.

My 2 bits of wasting time on the centre of the universe.

Back to hockey here....
With a ton of cap space & not really many tradeable assets its draft & develop for 2-3 years. No choice tbh. TG will do better than WD with me expecting the kids to be better handled. D will be a smarter corp collectively but the results r points oriented if we r to make strides. The PP is pathetic & can only get better i hope. Forwards r where i expect a lot more excitement albeit prolly inconsistent.

Be nice but it will take a Tanev trade to get another 1st.
Our 33rd will have a nice player fall to us is my bet.

No I can't. I don't care enough about other teams players to have nicknames for them. Except Ovenchicken because that is hilarious.

Yotes Sabres Wings @7,8,9 all could use Tanev.
Yotes also have 23OA.

Tanev/55 for 7th/23rd maybe?

Crazy thought for the day...maybe Mcphee is packaging some of these extra 1st rounders to make a play for tanev. Maybe there is a deal to be made to protect a sbisa or gaunce...maybe both and a couple late firsts for tanev? Too far out there?

NO deal to protect Sbisa or gaunce is worth it.
As for Tanev going for 1sts thats maybe afterwards but i doubt it.
LVGK will be fine on D & will be trading some prolly.
