For sure. Thanks for clarifying.

Given the likely availability of one of Glass, Vilardi or Mittelstadt, how hungry Vegas is to get of the gate quickly and the picks/prospects that they've stockpiled... I think their team selections have the possibility to be telling of their interest and direction.

It obviously wouldn't be huge, but what would LV offer VAN to exchange the 5OA and 6OA picks?

Does trading down to either 7OA (ARI) or 8OA (BUF) make sense? Because both have a lot of what VAN could be looking for while VAN still might be able to draft their #1 target.

Would you guys do something around the 5OA and Sam Reinhart, a C and a good ol' Vancouver boy?

Leaf's fans are interesting, Reinhart is completely available apparently, and can be packaged to move up 1 spot in the draft? Give me a break.

Mention Nylander in a discussion and leafs fans lose their minds

How many spots? Where are Vancouver and Buffalo drafting this year in the top 10?

Edit: As far as Nylander goes, there's absolutely no reason to trade him at this point giving the potential we saw this season. In most years he's a Calder nominee, but that's going to Matthews by a landslide this year. Oh well

I'm just saying, I'm pretty sure Reinhart is untouchable, like Nylander.

But isn't Tanev worth the 3OA + prospect?

With all of the Benning hate and whining here over the past few days just imagine how busy you are gonna be when the Sedins are extended here...

It doesn't matter. Why would Buffalo trade youth and picks? They are literally in the same spot as the Leafs (stockpiling young players until a good team is made). I don't see them being interested in Tanev (especially at that price).

Ristolainen is better and younger.

As much as I'd like Buffalo pieces in return, tI don't think they are going to be a team interested in overpaying for Tanev.

Not sure if anyone has posted this...

Benning on drafting a defenseman: "A guy that can run the power-play and has a hard shot and gets it on net - that's a need." #Canucks

Benning on Cale Makar: "It's his ability to skate and jump up in the play, and his shot from the point - he has a hard, accurate shot."

These quotes together make me worried.

- NorthNuck

I dont think they should worry you. The skills identified are quantifiable across leagues. I dont have a doubt they had radar readings of his shot and possibly skating speeds, notes on shot placement, shots blocked, etc. You can also use these to help identify hockey IQ. I would be more concerned if the guy was outside the top-10 in consensus rankings, but it seems he has climbed for nearly everyone

Also I would be happy to see them take one of the top 2 ranked D for this rebuild, they need extra time and are delicate to develop. At a time where the franchise needs a top prospect in any position, I'd rather they go with the slower development position so they dont create a Colorado/Edmonton type desperation for D with high end forwards...

Really? I think if the Sedins are extended the haters will pull a DCT and say adios for a year or so . There will be nothing but love and harmony in here to go along with finishing 31 st every year.
- VANTEL

The sedins aren't holding the team in 31st placeit's all the other superstar talent this team has accumulated, Sven, Grandlund, Eriksson, Chaput, Megna, Skille, come on that line up screams 31st...

LV gets CBJ 1st to take Clarkson
LV gets NYI 1st to take Grabovski

LV is going to better than the Canucks soon, if not this year
Good news is we'll be the answer to a trivia question:
First team to finish 31st overall

Trolling?

You been reading my posts? I've been engaged in legit hockey talk asking honest questions and posing reasonable proposals.

For the record, it's guys like you and Crazybagoham who brought up the Leafs, not me.

Thoughts on trading back in the first round this year (say, into the 8 or 9 spots)? If one of the top 2 dmen fall to 5, I could see Buffalo being interested in moving up. Detroit may be interested in getting one of the better centres (Pettersson?)

Yet, you guys think you can get Dumba from Vegas for your 1st plus a prospect.

It is all spit balling and fantasy, no need for stirring the pot, because one person throws something out there.
Most of us respect how Tanev plays defensively and he makes his partner look better, heck he even made his partner at 20q6 World Championships look good. Not an easy task.

Then I'm more than ok to see him stay, and didn't we just read a media report that Benning wants a 1st and a prospect, so I guess he will be disappointed also.
