There is no defensemen available to Las Vegas that's as good as tanev. If they have 10 or twelve picks in this draft does it not make sense to use a couple of them on a proven top notch nil d man ?

Crazy thought for the day...maybe Mcphee is packaging some of these extra 1st rounders to make a play for tanev. Maybe there is a deal to be made to protect a sbisa or gaunce...maybe both and a couple late firsts for tanev? Too far out there?

its possible. We have no idea what Mcphee is doing and his intentions with the players available to him. If he takes the great D available and doesnt flip them back then its unlikely he goes after tanev.
Then again with the 1sts that he's piled up maybe he uses them to target some key players in trades....ones he couldnt get due to being protected, like tanev was.

I think makar and heiskanen will go 3/4. Which puts glass, villardi or liljegren at 5oa. 7oa is too much a wildcard to predict.

Keep in mind we could end up with 2 C like glass / petersson or even 2 D

another possible outcome (if we acquire 3oa) is that patrick falls to 3

Nice thoughts but don't see Yotes buying NHL prime players for picks.

I think if Stars don't bite on JB bar for Tanev then like you've said before there are others with a 1st and prospect that need to buy D. After trade with Habs Sabers might not be as hot but they were my last buyer in top 10 other then Stars.

So going mid round that prospect needs to be A+ level to swing it with the 1st. That knocks out the Leafs. But Isles, Bolts, and Oil are valid option 2's to play against for JB to swing a Tanev trade. It all starts with Stars for me though.
