Talbot was a great trade chip too tho and they didn't get much. Fans perception and actual GM perceptions are way different. Backup goalies are probably the least valuable on a team if you ask a GM. Just because they want someone as a number one, he isn't a number one whenever your trading for him. Basically the team getting the goalie has the other by the balls imo

AND I still don't get what you have against Fast as a player, he may be the best fourth liner in the leauge. And it's AVs fault he puts him on the 3rd line not his. But I agree I don't think Fast goes

The only "trade" of Raanta that would make sense is to Vegas with something else they would want (draft picks?). This would only be done if the Rangers wanted this to happen and if Vegas notified the Rangers of their potential selection. In the end, if Raanta was the player Gorton was hoping to lose, then they'd make the trade to hopefully keep Vegas from changing their minds later and selecting a player the Rangers don't wish to lose.

This "trade" would act as the Vegas selection of a NYR player and thus the Rangers would not lose anyone else on Wednesday.

Could so the same with Grabner, because for LV he is a trade chip anyway down the road. So, you can try and say you can take the chance that he repeats 30 goals and get more at mid-year or obtain a chip now and eliminate the down side risk if he struggles.

I would prefer to do that and dangle Grabner to Vegas. Why...Sure the Rangers would miss his speed...However, will he duplicate his positive production this upcoming season? Likely...unlikely?

If he does, do you think you can resign him for the under $2M he is currently making on a player that scored 20+ this year for the first time since 11-12?

I would have loved to swindle some team on Talbot but the truth of the matter is the team traded away their back up. Despite how anyone wants to twist it, he is not and was never better then Hank.

Don't forget he spent a lot of time on the bench in Edmonton the first year and is now 29 or 30 and for all intents and purposes, was not very good in the Anaheim series.

This is not the same situation so comparing the two is kind of silly

And I am going to bring this up again. Who is exposed that you'd want Vegas to flip to us (not counting the clearly worked out protected guys like the Ducks defenseman).
