You know my point but you want to alter it, you working for CNN now? It's not losing Raanta if he part of a trade that's gets us back an asset, we can sign another backup to sit on the bench and play the bad teams, you get the difference of losing for nothing and trading right?

Here is the thing though Vin. You are essentially losing 2 players from a spot of weakness. Lets say they take Grabner, its still leaves you Raanta and you can negotiate from a position of strength for the rest of the summer. I get what you are saying, but I personally say let them take 1 player and then start the wheeling dealing after the draft.

If the rumors are correct they want Stepan and not so much rantaa, so your right. Stepan and maybe one of the goalie prospects (not the Russian) for Murphy/Chycrun and the 23rd seems like a good deal

Raanta has more value as a trade chip than a backup to me, we can fill his position but won't replace his value on the trade market
