McDonagh has this year and next year left on his current deal. Barrie has one extra year at $5.5 million.
- airjan23

Yup but McDonagh is going to get paid. Skjei should be signed to a McDonagh type contract after next year. If they keep McDonagh, Skjei is going to get a short term deal, then we would have to find money to pay him like a number 1. Just don't see it working out with Skjei and McDonagh both getting big bucks eventually.

I'm actually a big fan of what Nixon did in office, but he was undeniably a slimy, crooked wiener.

I mentioned this morning that one of the scariest parts of trading Stepan is how it will affect McDonagh

Especially if you package them for Zajac and Greene, they are both signed long term.

Rangers better make very sure they have a legitimate backup for Lundqvist, if Raanta is selected by Vegas. If not for him an Talbot, I'm not sure the Rangers make the playoffs the last 4 years. Both were outstanding filling in for Hank.

If the club doesn't move Stepan, prior to his NMC kicking in July 1st, he'll be a blue shirt for the majority of his contract.

That will certainly get the Rangers closer to one of Jake Wise, Joseph Veleno or Andrei Svechnikov so sign me up.

I mean,...... I'm not going to say that wouldn't have me excited but losing Mac would honestly hurt.

Maybe they can move Kreider for someone better that puts in full effort each night.

It would hurt. McDonagh is awesome. I think Skjei could make McDonagh expendable.

Its sucks, but if Skjei builds off of last year, he could statistically be better than McDonagh.

this trade would shock the Ranger world in the same way trading Park and Ratelle in '75 did

but at least the Rangers would be getting McKinnon, not 33 year old Phil Esposito

This is how I stand and I'm surprised more people aren't with me on it, I'm done with just about every player that's been here for the last 5 or 6 years, with the exception of probably Zucc only. All of them. I've been one to give them a pass and say wait til next year year after year. But I can't anymore, MAC step Nash kreider Miller Hayes could all go for something. NOt giving anyone away of course, but I wouldn't shed a tear if pretty much anyone currently wasn't back. I want new blood, new voices, new everything. This team has become very stale for my liking

I think McKinnon is an absolute beast stuck on a dog poop team. I know it w as silly pre-season tourney but he was a men among boys in the World Cup. It sucks but I am changing my mind a bit on this. I didn't know Mac only had 2 years left on that contract.... He is one of my favorite Rangers but........
