Cassidy also rolled Riley Nash and Dominic Moore as our 2nd line for the series against Ottawa. Which limited the Bruins incredibly.

Spooner will have a good year this year. Book it.

Yes, but for which team is the question?

so now Cassidy is a problem? the guy turned the season around.

and he wisely scratched Spooner in games 5 and 6 of that series. he's awesome.

Half of his points come on the PP though. Would have to see much more 5 vs. 5 to convince me. Spooner needs a lot of space to be creative, and would benefit much more from a system that is more free wheeling. He can improve his strength, but that doesnt necessarily mean he wont shy away from the physical play. You dont see spoons digging in the corners, winning battles or busting his ass to backcheck. After 200+ games, I think we have seen what habits we can expect from the player.

He isnt lazy though and he has been effective with the right players. We dont need 12 forwards that specialize on the cycle.

I hope he stays. There is a reason he is protected.

You cant just blindly say everything Cassidy has done has been successful. He got them to the playoffs and then relied to heavily on the gritty veterans.

That is my opinion.

Yakupov was effective with the right players too, just sayin'.

The reason he was protected, was so they could get an asset for him instead of losing him for nothing. There was reported interest, and if Sweeney is any sort of competent (a stretch I know), he can land a 2nd, or 3rd rounder for him or package him in a trade that brings a hockey player into Boston that the team can actually make use of.

McAvoy is such a savvy, grizzled veteran. Total sandpaper that guy.

I am talking forwards. McAvoy was forced into the situation. You aren't winning a series with Dominic Moore and Riley Nash playing 20 minutes a game.

dude who else should have played? pastrnak tied for the lead in scoring. Kuraly played solid minutes and so did Schaeller. Vatrano was a bit over his head too.

i think this should be more of an indication of how disappointing Spooner was to get scratched like that.

The mock expansion draft on NHL.com has Vegas taking Colin Miller from the Bruins. I agree, unless either Sweeney knows something or the Bruins can make a deal to save him, Vegas picking Colin makes the most sense to me. He's only 24, and has a lot of room to grow.
I would've protected Colin over Kevan because I really believe in a couple of years he will be a solid top 4 offensive D-man.
Kevan might be better right now, but I agree with the other commenters who say that Kevan at 29 years old is at his ceiling.
If we lose Colin, I think we are going to regret losing another offensive D-man.

The more i look at it the more i think they take Subban as an AHL project as there 3rd or 4th goalie.

There are a lot of dmen exposed. Vegas will have a solid defense right out of the gate if they do it right.

I hope they take Subban and leave Colin alone!! I don't believe Malcolm will EVER be an NHL goalie from what I've seen so far. But, Goalies usually take longer to mature so maybe there's something there.
From what I've been reading a lot of Bruins fans like me HATE the thought of losing Colin.
Who knows, maybe they'll take Beleskey!
