Nothing. They are taking Rychel. Leafs are losing a 3/4 LW. Not the end of the world. I'm hoping they can convince Vegas to take a player from another team the Leafs want for a package, but we all know this will be pretty dull. Par for the course.

Martin seems be be a guy that the core of young players and management really seem to like. Maybe they just want to keep him. My comment that they should have protected Rychle was because I don't think Vegas would take Martin. Imagine how the young kids would feel if they lost a buddy and protector on the team as opposed to an AHL plug.

That's at least how most scouts see him.
I highly doubt Leafs will lose Rychel for nothing, surely some kind of deal is made with LV.
(Manson or another D for whichever package (involving Soshnikov?) from Leafs + agreement that LV take Leipsic in expansion draft).

Who cares if Rychel gets claimed...he's an AHLer who is really nothing special. There is a good chance he won't ever be as good as Martin.

Agreed. Also, between Leivo, Komarov, Rychel, Lipstick, Grundstrom, Hyman and Johnson, I think we have the 3rd line LW spot covered
