Rather take Fleury, he's younger and just had a better season.
- Nucker101

except that when you look at the pens list, who would you take?
fleury, bonino, rust, hagelin?

A younger player in bonino might be a better pick than fleury. Then there's Rust, even younger yet

Would any of you guys be willing to give up Demko for the 6th overall? If Makar or Lilljegrin are available at 6 and Vegas wants Demko, I say yes. And shore up our d for the next 5-7 years. Draft a goalie with one of our two second rounders.
- Itsjustarash

no prospect goalie is worth a 6th overall.

Are you thinking that either of these guys are close to playing NHL minutes?

I think Demko could be a really great goalie, so I would personally pass.

Vegas can put together a nice lineup AND have a good draft, Gary was kind to them.

Swing for the fences are moves like Tanev for a top 5 pick or a move for Galchenyuk or Landeskog

Moving at least one high profiled expiring contracts at TDL for a first round pick

He has nothing to lose. 29 th spot is hard to fall downwards.

- VANTEL

so tanev to dallas for 3oa to take Makar with
5oa to habs for galchenyuk

Promote Pedan to see regular duty

time to start fining ppl that shout "GET IN THE HOLE" everytime a golfer makes a shot.

or better yet fine them and kick them out. it's not funny. it's not cool. it's not original. it's annoying. especially when they tee off and you have no idea how good their shot is.

Our team, despite their output, will be SOO much better when the sedins are gone. Their ouput in all situations does not equal their cap hits
- Codes1087

I totally agree. The Sedins are gifted all of the prime opportunities

Agree those drunk f**cks at the PGA tour events shouting that crap should be tossed out immediately…not sure why the PGA puts up with that sh!t.

Yeah, some of the players being exposed are really valuable, going to be interesting to see which one's are actually "available" for Vegas. They could make a decent team out of that list right now.
- Nucker101

Looks very well like LV will have good goalies & D but at C its not so bright looking & wingers could be where most of the cap is spent to hit the floor. Nust my thoughts after a quick glance over the available players:

I'd trade tanev for the 6oa and the rights to one of the young islanders forwards

not a bad plan at all

That awkward moment when you realize that Vegas will probably have a better NHL team and Farm team come post Draft day.. Vegas is essentially thr Mob of the NHL right now.
- Codes1087

well it IS vegas after all. Mob controlled town since what the 40's

I think Benning needs to swing for the fences. This is his last year in office and he has a C- report card.

He has done very little to improve the team . He went from a playoff team first year to 2 bottom 10 finishes and will be in the bottom 10 this year. This is the exact opposite of want you want from a new GM .

His TDL record is abysmal . He has traded 2 expiring contracts in 3 years and I doubt he will trade any this year.

The clock is running out on JB

- VANTEL

All the above was leftover from the MG cup runs. The transition period was expected to be difficult so IMHO next season & 2018 & all the previous drafts & uocoming ones will be a measuring stick. 2017 is microscope time for JB.

Not sure why some are so upset with JB's tenure thus far. With the talent he has acquired I think he has done a decent job. You can question some of his trades but at the time they seemed like good deals. I still believe management interfered at the trade deadline a few years back but this year I didn't hear too many complaints. Unfortunately 2015 set us back.

Drafts has been pretty good. If you can get 2 to 3 out of 7 per year that have potential to make the nhl I would say that is a success. 2014: Virtanen ? Demko and Tryamkin. 2015: Boeser, Brisebois, Gaudette not mention Zhukenov and Jasek. 2016: Juolevi and Lockwood.

If anything negative it's been the signings JB has made. Sbisa's, Dorsett and Sutter that come to mind.

I'm ok with not moving Tanev. I can see why management would be hesitant to move him even though his value is pretty high. There's no one to fill the void at this time.

I don't think there is a need to make bold moves but make smart ones...build in the draft...sign decent ufa's that might get you return at the tdl. Build your prospect pool then go from there. Try to picture our roster 3 years down the road...it's looking pretty good. Have faith Canucks fans, even though tough times may still be ahead...me thinks rock bottom has passed.

Would you take Vatanen or Manson or a first round pick for say Rattcliffe ? To me I tell the Ducks thanks but no thanks
- VANTEL

If Minny has no side deal cuz they stated losing 1 good D is best vs 2 players I'd nab Dumba then take Manson for grit. If a side deal in place then Vaatenen.

I liked JB . I am judging him on his performance not my personal feelings.

His team is declining and he hasn't put his personal feelings to the sid to make the huge moves that are required.

If you look at Chirelli or Bergeron they have made big balls moves . Not all moves are home runs but they are active and at least swinging.

- VANTEL

2 points....

Habs r a 1 trick pony...PRICE...MB inherited him.
Chiapet inherited a lot & lucked on McDavid...so done not much at all.

Neither has done anything special to date.

If Luongo came back here well…that would make it interesting around here to say the least.

By swing for the fences i say JB has to be bold & make a big moves.
A rebuild is a remake of the core & its Tanev where it all begins.
Edler should be forced to waive as well. The Sedins r gone soon.
In the right scenario a huge UFA or 2 is needed in the near future.
Cap space now & next season r MOST important if we r trending up nicely.
I look at JT as a key piece to design our plan for if possible.

No, Demko looks like he will be a solid starter for us one day.
