Their lack of of any kind of interview process pissed me off. We'll see how he does but expectations are low.

For a guy who's made millions, he's not very bright when it comes to owning a hockey team. I'll appreciate him for always being willing to spend to the cap and apparently spending a lot of money on other resources to help the team, but the guy (frank)ed up if it truly was his call to "re-tool while staying competitive" when this team clearly was going downhill fast. Plus Linden was a horrible hire, and then to allow Linden to hire a first time NHL GM and then a first time NHL coach was just hilarious.

Agreed, spending to the cap is a luxury that surprisingly some teams do not get to experience, but awful management abilities. I am guessing brokering deals to buy and develop land does not have a critical emphasis on organizational structure, since the actual work is overseen by contractors and consultants who have that infrastructure in place

Well we know Tanev will get work after he retired too. His elite defensive abilities will be excellent in a coaching/development role. Or maybe he will be able to see those abilities in others, therefore will be brought in as a scout? But he signed for a reasonable contract too, being the future Canuck GM could be in the cards.. I seen a lot of discussion on the last 20 pages. It is an old and tiring subject for some but is summer and not much current news happening so old topics keep popping up.

No one is name calling or getting angry so I don't understand the frustration. If the topic bothers you then start a new topic and we will jump in.

We are the luckiest bunch on hockey buzz, to have by far the best blogger in Carol.

If we had say, that guy who does the Washington/Arizona/Trump blogs we would have a 100 pages of complaining about his opinions.

Damn I thought Edler was a shoe-in for goalie coach, but probably best as equipment manager since he should know by now which sticks will break at the most opportune time!

Smart of McPhee to set a deadline. I imagine they pick up a few extra picks but think the mandate in Vegas is a competitive team and playoffs so will want good players.

Usually top UFAs will say no thanks to an expansion team but damn this is Vegas . Hard to say no.
