I really hope the Devils pick Dolan. - Devils9503
Im a big fan, if there is no decent defense on the board at 33 then I hope thats the guy they take. Seems like he is similar to Horvat. |

I wouldn't pay that for Dumba. He isn't exactly developing as well as the Wild hoped.
Also, to contradict my last post, I heard Minni just might bite the bullet and lose a good player (D).
And now for a topic rarely talked about on here:
I have a feeling Tanev is going nowhere. The Canucks won't get the 3OA and this draft will be a let down, in terms of Canuck activity. - storm88
Worst scenario possible and time for a Management change if so. |

Let's see here.
The general assumption is that the Wild will offer a 1st rounder to Vegas, a 2018 pick due to the fact they traded their 2017 1st to PHX, in an attempt to protect Dumba/Scandella.
Vegas has stated they are open for business when it comes to drafting selected players with the intention of flipping them to another team.
Hypothetically, Vegas can either acquire:
A late 2018 Wild 1st rounder or Dumba.
It sounds as though Vegas is intend on accumulating as many future assets as possible as opposed to simply attempting to compete right off the bat.
Send them Hutton, a 2nd and perhaps a winger prospect for Dumba. Would certainly beat out a late first rounder....? - Whiskey-Tango

If they consider moving Tanev in a year or 2, then you're better off doing it now. His shot suppression stat can't get much better. Which means it'll probably get worse.

Dumba is 22, has scored 21 goals over the last two seasons, remains a plus D-man and has a physical edge.
34 pts, + 15 and good fancy stats this passed season. If a player of his age and quality is potentially going to be moved/protected for a late 1st, be it the Wilds 2018 pick or EDM's 22nd etc, I would be extremely disappointed if Benning fails to even put in a bid.
A top 4 Defense of Edler, Stetcher, Tanev and Dumba would be an excellent step in the right direction. |

Vatanen and Manson will not be taken. Why do people think they are going to be available? Deal already in place. As with a lot of other teams. - storm88
Yeah, some of the players being exposed are really valuable, going to be interesting to see which one's are actually "available" for Vegas. They could make a decent team out of that list right now. |

I think Benning needs to swing for the fences. This is his last year in office and he has a C- report card.
He has done very little to improve the team . He went from a playoff team first year to 2 bottom 10 finishes and will be in the bottom 10 this year. This is the exact opposite of want you want from a new GM .
His TDL record is abysmal . He has traded 2 expiring contracts in 3 years and I doubt he will trade any this year.
The clock is running out on JB |

Would you take Vatanen or Manson or a first round pick for say Rattcliffe ? To me I tell the Ducks thanks but no thanks |

I know people will criticize them for it, but I'd take Luongo if I were Vegas. Scoop up Strome (reject the isles first)/ Vatanen seem to be the gems. I'd take Chiasson from Calgary as well
Vegas might be lot better than I thought they'd be.

Vatanen or Manson easily...they'd have to offer up a young player/prospect like Theodore/Larsson + pick for me to pass on those guys. Same with Minny, because otherwise I'm taking Dumba and I'm feeling great about having 2 good young dmen to start off my team with.

Rather take Fleury, he's younger and just had a better season. |

Exactly. No-brainer. Draft Fleury since Pitt doesn't really have much exposed other than depth players. |

A bunch of free agent options as well, I'm just kind of surprised by the amount of Quality NHL players scattered throughout the lists |

Yeah, if Vegas was picking straight from those lists, they'd have a decent team. Especially Shipachyov turns out to be a legit top 6 center. |

Strome could end up being a top line winger as well, Vegas has so many options...I hope they reject these 1st rounders and take Brodin/Vatanen/Strome with the 6oa that's a really good start.
Anyone else slightly jealous of Vegas's clean slate? |
