Sedins and Edler...that's it lol. And he's gone on record multiple times saying that he likes Edler and doesn't want to trade him. And there's talk of the Sedins even being brought back after their deals are done sooooo.

Also, this will be his 4th draft and off-season here so at some point the "he needs more time" excuse will start to look really stupid. Look at the roster next year, 90% of the team will be Benning contracts and the entire prospect pool are all players he drafted. This is his team.

I repeatedly said JB is under the microscope this season.
The past 3 yrs were for cleaning house & reinventing us.
So far I'm ok with what he has done.

I look forward to this draft & the upcoming season & a healthier roster.
The mark & impact TG makes on us is a crucial step going forward.
I'm very optimistic TG will make good.

What has he done in three years?

Good...

Drafted Boeser and Juolevi.
Traded Burrows and Hansen for Dahlen and Goldobin.
Signed Tanev to a good deal.
Traded for Baertschi and Grandlund.

Bad...

This is a long list

@Crazy I think you should start with a few easier matches, you don't get a title fight right off the get-go

Seems easy: Vey and Kassian trades. Slight over payment on Guddy and Sutter trades.

Not true at all if you look back two years. His first draft I was excited, however, he lost me during his first year.

Vey was a minor hiccup.
Kassian cost only Hodgson. No loss there.
EG & Sutter were not bad deals overall.
All & all most GM's have done worse during their tenures.
Now that is not to say JB is a magician but he is under the gun now.

Benning had better get it right this draft because if he goes into his 5th draft next year not having produced a quality NHL player yet, it'd be truly embarrassing for him and ownership.
- LeftCoaster

JB is a GM, with many duties and responsibilities. He is limited in his time to scout more himself. Thats why there is a scouting staff. I dont think the blame should all fall on his lap

canucks have such a long history of poor drafting that far predates JB. What also predates JB is our scouting staff. perhaps its time to get new scouts and part ways with some long serving scouts. Maybe then our draft success will improve.

Dam rights it should fall on his lap. He chose to keep a majority of the same scouting staff that has been there for years. Ultimately he pulls the trigger. He has the choice on who his staff is and in the end its him who says who his draft picks are.
