How about Sven's over under for goals? I get the feeling we all think he is what he is now. What if he keeps getting better? I think it's possible he becomes a 30g man down the road. Or he stays the same?

I'll set it at 24. Assuming he plays all 82. roughly .3 gpg

Demko, Tryamkin and Forsling were all good picks give me a break. McCann was average. That's still a good draft.
- CanuckDon

can you not read? I said 2 of those 3 were good picks..give you a break on what old man?

How the hell can we call Demko a good pick if the guy hasn't played a damn NHL game yet? It's not like he's dominating the AHL. I like him, but he's a question mark right now. Pass me your crystal ball please.

For example: I'm very high on Cody Glass and would be ecstatic if the Canucks draft him at 5th overall. I'd call it a good pick, but no way in hell do I call it successful until I see him as a NHL regular.

My take is once again this season will decide his fate.
The roster turnover & NMC's & NTC's ftom the GM regime r nearly gone.
5yrs is a fair time but in our case it had mitigating problems.
With TG coaching we will see a different team on the ice & i think a better systems approach with the kids getting more breathng room. TG will hold all accountable but yet not as rigid as WD. A new refreshing approach will come IMO.

I am okay with Green but my expectations are low. I don't see a rookie coach taking a 29 th place team and making the playoffs. This talent is what it is.

Obviously you can't move full NTCs and NMCs but Tanev can get you a very good return and you sign a UFA to stop gap him

Some of the moves I have really liked from JB are Goldobin Dahlen Boeser Gaudette Tryamkin Granlund Sutter Demko and Gudbrandson.

I am excited to see how that turns out down the road

This is the crux of the team and where it's going additionally with Bo, OJ, Stecher, Hutton and Sven. Then if you just let the Sedin thing play itself out you won't need to feel let down.

I don't know, I really can't see Baertschi ever scoring more than 25 goals. I don't see him ever being more than a 2nd liner, depth scoring kind of guy. His shot doesn't seem anything special, but that can be worked on easily enough.

I agree with you there. I think the organization stinks top to bottom, and its not JB making most of the decisions. We need a GM that can actually make a trade, though. JB is too hesitant to be useful to us anymore. Plus every GM knows they can outtalk him, and knows exactly what he wants. He doesn't know how to play the game.
- Crazybagoham

What trades would u make or made if in JB's shoes?
This oughta be very sagely & enlightening 😜😂

Same here except TG will be a better coach than WD i am certain of.
Year 2 is when he will prove to us we r trending up is my prediction.

Must be draft week as the JB bashing is out in full effect. As for the expansion draft it looks good that the majority of Canuck talent is exempt. That's what you want for a rebuilding team. There are really only 6 vets with big contracts on entire team. Two are retiring and 2 more are getting traded soon. The other 2 will remain for mentoring until traded. That doesn't look like a team spiraling down to know where. Patience people the new season hasn't begun even to cast sky falling outlooks. Things can change quick once the new crop of players fall into place.

Not true at all if you look back two years. His first draft I was excited, however, he lost me during his first year.
- LeftCoaster

He lost most of us during his first year. As is usually the case everyone gives him a chance as he continues to f@ck things up more and more.

Obviously what we r lacking is game changers....

Top C & stud D standout but given the past drafts none have stood out considering where we picked & who was available. OJ has upside but too early to tell. Gaudette was a good find at 5th round but this draft & next r where we give JB no wiggle room. We MUST fill our needs & hit a home run or 2. Is that Glass or Makar idk? Both would be a good start if/& we can acquire another 1st. Next year we all expect another high pick. Furtermore i expect JV OJ & Demko to be contributing in 2018. How BB & other assets fair will be this years scrutiny if JB has done well. The PP is an immediate focus & can only get better. D will be an ongoing problem but players like EG Stecher & Hutton can all make a very significant impact if they r to be longterm solutions.
