Unless McPhee sees what Jimbo does in Sbisa, I think it's Gaunce. - Nucker101
Sbisa is a better player than Gaunce, they'll take Sbisa. |

Yeah Sbisa is the guy, if not I can see them grabbing a depth forward like Chaput to play 4c. I can't see them being interested in Gaunce, literally no offensive upside. |

It's not that black and white.
Sbisa costs almost 3M more. Vegas has plenty of quality D(giggity) to choose from |

He has more value in a trade than Gaunce if they flip him. |

I know that Vegas is not going to get low picks out of all the wheeling and dealing. Perhaps getting a top 5 for Tanev is wishful thinking and an alternative might be to scoop a few picks for Tanev from them as he doesnt have the modified NTC yet and would help settle down a new Vegas D squad ? |

Vegas "D" will be twice as good as the Canucks (potentially) |

They will have to reach the cap floor, and will need NHL roster players (they will have a lot of AHL guys) I think they will take Sbisa, not too old and can increase his value for a flip |

I'd trade tanev for the 6oa and the rights to one of the young islanders forwards |

they have a TON of leeway in terms of wacky trades, its only the #6 so I doubt they are that attached if it gets them a core player. I could see them trading the pick, depending on the deal ( I really don't see them trading the pick for Tanev though :lol |

They may trade one of their first but not the 6 OA |

That awkward moment when you realize that Vegas will probably have a better NHL team and Farm team come post Draft day.. Vegas is essentially thr Mob of the NHL right now. |

I know it's hard without knowing the back deals, but do a mock expansion draft and you'll see how many dmen that are better than Sbisa are available and how many that are just as good(but cheaper) are available.
The cap floor argument is silly, why would McPhee take on bad deals for free? He can trade with a team in cap hell and get back a pick/prospect.
Sbisa has barely any value, how often do expensive bottom pairing dmen get traded right before free agency? |

people talk about sbisas contract like its a 10x10 deal.... its like 3m a year? he was one of our better d men last year and he's only 27. There are plenty of worse d men out there on worst contracts. You could get a 2nd or a 3rd out of sbisa at a deadline, just because of the way he plays.
I don't buy all the Sbisa hate, personally. I think he's okay. |

It adds no value to Vegas they would be better off taking Pedan
There is no Sbisa hate . He is a 3 mil bottom pairing Dman on one of the worst teams in the NHL. No hate but no love either |

His contract is not back breaking, but you're not understanding McPhee's options. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong here, but from Vegas' perspective it doesn't make much sense to draft him. |
