Yeah it's open (there's only one)

But I feel like I'm just wasting money here

I'm assuming you leave your bedroom door open at night so the animals can come and go?

Those are the leaked ones. We don't know who made moves. The Sabres are rumored to have made a move too.
- Wetbandit1

Sabres have been so tight lipped lately

Also I closed the two vents that were close-able

Oh, ok. Then yeah, just go with the window unit, it will be a lot cheaper over night. Go and buy yourself a few cheap fans and turn them on during the day or whenever you're home, you can set the A/C 3, 4 degrees warmer because there's air moving and it will be more efficient too.

Next hurdle is getting my normal ac in a sliding window

I had the same problem at my old apartment but this one is too skinny so I'm going to have to put it in vertically

You might not want to do that. It might not drain properly and you could burn out the compressor that way.

Try going online and see if people have done it with the model you have and see if it worked.

Don't see Vegas taking many over the age of 25 so Hudon makes sense ... though they do need to take a few vets to reach the cap floor somehow ... if they took Emelin Mtl's D is depleted which helps us too and they can flip him at the trade deadline
- Doug&theSlugs

All true
However...

There's only a handful of young talent they can pick who can grow into becoming a part of the team going forward
Hudon, Aberg, Rust...
these guys should all be selected, no doubt

Sure, they could trade Emelin at some point
But would they get back a prospect better than Hudon?
Very doubtful

And there's plenty of better Vet options for them on defense as well
Methot, McQuaid, Jack Johnson...

The choice from Montreal is a no brainer
I'm still shocked they left him unprotected

So should I just roll with what I have?

I just feel like it's such a waste because I only use it to cool my room at night (which also happens to be the hottest damn room in the apartment)

But if it's true they have an extra 3 first round picks plus a few more 2nds that makes it easier to take vets. Plus if McPhee is to be believed they want to compete right away, which is dumb, but it's what he's said. That leads me to believe they're going to be picking more vets than people think.

I think Brendan Smith is our best bet at this point
- chilliard77

Ugh
I hope you're wrong

I don't hate him,
But I don't wanna give a long term deal to someone bc they're the "best bet"

If we can't get the right guy,
might be better to just give Guhle his shot now?

Is it a 2 bedroom? Is the other bedroom any cooler?

A 6 year $24M-$27M deal isn't that bad for a top 4 D. That might be a bit high for Smith. He's a solid player, and more than anything that's what we need.

I'd be happy if we could sign Smith, debatably as happy as if we signed Shattenkrik

And before you say it, we all know your opinion on Shattenkirk

I finished by saying there were better options than Emelin & listed 3

Of course, idk what McPhee will do, and this is all my opinion...

But it would be EPICALLY STUPID to pass on a young 22yr old who can be part of your team for a decade, as opposed to some Vet you'd trade at the deadline

And again, when they do trade Emelin...
they likely aren't getting back a better prospect than Hudon

I'm not very high on Hudon

I just don't see much to get excited about, he looks like he could be a decent top 9 guy, but he also seems like a boom or bust type guy

That's not my debate. My debate is Plekanec instead of Emelin. Because Vegas needs a good center, and he may have had a bad year, but he's still a better pick because I'd rather have a defenseman from Minnesota than Montreal. But it's irrelevant because we don't know who is actually protected and who isn't. And we won't know everyone until after expansion. There are moving parts within moving parts here, it's not just one player over the other.

Dum dum.

- Wetbandit1

Well that eliminates Plekanec then
Hahaha

In all seriousness though
They could take Plekanec as their 3C
Or go with a young guy like Hudon

And use Lehtera at 3C
Or there's supposedly a deal for Kruger, who also fits that 3C

I'll stop talking about Hudon now, promise

My point though...
if there's a good young guy available, u take him

There's will be plenty of Vets to take from teams that don't have good young players available to choose
Philly, LA, Arizona, StL....
