Ok - maybe fellas, your expectations ARE WAY TOO HIGH -

The dude gambled, won some, lost a few smaller others.....yet when Regier was here everyone cried he was too conservative -

Cmon fellas

- -JCDC-

Which ones are these?

Honest question.

O'Reilly? That might be it after 3.5 years

All of this trade Lehner talk, then what ? Who's better, at a reasonable price, and we don't have a backup.

Bouwmeester could skate like the wind, move the puck up and down the ice, set up beautiful plays. He was very talented and seeing the play and development.

Probably thinking of when he was with Florida.

lehner plus our second for 1 year of Trouba at $3M and the right to sign him long term.

I don't think we need to give them Sam for that year and that chance.

hed still be an rfa though no?

I think you're just comparing two different players by accident
Jacob is basically a very poor man's Chris P which is not a bad thing at all

I'm agreeing with you. We have a million picks in 2014 and extra picks in 2015 TM was willing to bargain with. I believe GMTM thought we drafted our future between the 13-15 drafts and he was looking to make us better now. I will always commend him for having the balls to go after and get what he wanted. It did not always work out but I am glad to have ROR, Kane, Okposo , and Lehner. We might have Konecny over Lehner but he wanted Lehener

Bogos falls under this. He is a strong player who looked like he was lacking in confidence all year.
- lulags

I don't get the fascination with BADgosian. There's nothing strong about him. He's overpaid, injury prone and beyond awful in his own end. Simple as that.

would you do reinhart and 8 for tanev and 5?
- Sabresfan-365

Not sure where all the love is for Tanev on this thread? I see enough of his games and he ain't the second coming of our new coach. He is a middling player.

Pass on the above trade proposal.

I agree. He was a reclamation project when we traded for him. And the project failed.

I think the only reason he missed time this year was a holdout and suspension. I could be wrong though

character issues?

I wish they would just let go of Moulson, Ennis, Gorges and Bogo. All 4 need to go one way or another. They're all dead weight. Trade, waive, whatever, just tell them thank you and do not show up anymore we don't want you here. Take the cap hit, whatever. Don't even care, just don't want them here.

Kinda having trouble seeing how Housley's comments relate to Kane? Boundaries between coaches and players seems more about the coach not being to close to the players. Kinda like how, as a parent, you want to be your kids' friend, but you need to be their parent first and foremost.

I think you're stretching trying to make this about Kane's off-ice behavior (which, as far as I can tell, wasn't much of an issue during the actual season last year)

Would rather Lehner and a 2d for Trouba
- Der Kaiser

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat...
but I think we'd have to add to that

he'd fit right in then in the blue and gold

a womanizer
a drunk that crashes into tim hortons
a d man with alleged coke problem
a skunk who can't read (reed) a clock
a goalie that can't make a single save in shoot outs
a punk who thinks he should be gm

From last blog...

1. We're trading Kane. This is the only time to trade him to get the best value. He's not going to sign here. While I'd like to keep him it just seems like he'll hit FA.
2. We need a top pairing defenceman and Kane alone is likely not enough. Brodin is very, very good and would likely be the best case scenario for us to get.

- bluengold12

Why are ppl assuming Kane won't extend here?

You know what, you are right. I was thinking of the other hold out Hampus Lindholm
but Trouba is still a great player
