It's never terrible to have depth.

In his scenario if you got Beaulieu in that deal you could just waive Manning. Injuries happen. And until Myers and Sanheim are here you can run Beaulieu in your top 6.

You never know what happens or what deals present themselves.

We still have AMac in that Scenario too....

That would just mean you have these 7 to start the season:

Provorov
Hagg
Morin
Gositbshere
Gudas
Beaulieu
MacDonald

Beaulieu is an RFA but he probably wouldn't be expensive since he could get a chance to prove himself more then he did in Montreal.

I actually think they take Hischier. For some reason i think they will like his offensive game a little more and the injury history will scare them off of Patrick a little even though they don't say it.

Why are we trading for a young D man when we got prospects that will be blocked that again most scouts say are ready now.

The time is now for Hagg and Morin. Later this or next season expect Sanheim and Myers to be knocking the door down.

You could always flip Beaulieu or whomever to get something of need. Again. more or less the overall idea variations of players and picks can be substituted. However, the idea of a G to Montreal for a nice package of players and picks is what Im suggesting

Exactly that buyout needs to wait another season at least.

Because the majority of our surefire HHOF prospects have played a grand total of 1 or 0 NHL games.

You would carry dead cap space for 6 seasons, it's not going to happen. He will be in there top 6 in 17-18 and, in all likelihood, a very overpaid 6/7 guy in 18-19. After 18-19, they may need a bit of cap room so you either trade him prior to his final year with 50% retained, leaving each team with a cap hit of 2.5 million and a real salary expense of 2.875 million or you buy him out. Buying him out after 2019, leaves the Flyers with the following dead cap space for 19-20 and 20-21.

19-20 1.167 million
20-21 1.917 million

For me, just my opinions, I lean towards Patrick. I think he could be the future number 1 center we need. I know Hischier really rose through the rankings but there is something about a guy who was consistently the top guy since he was, what 16-17.

That's just me.

Actually it's been burned into our heads by the constant trying to get rid of him by everyone including ourselves. Cap Friendly is our friend
