I had a dream that the Devils trade the 1st overall for something incredibly boring. Probably not that far off from reality with that team.

Im purely team Nico because he seems like the more exciting player.

My own selfish reasons, from the tiny ass amount of highlight videos I've seen.

Hextall said there was a 25-75% chance the Flyers will make a deal before the 3 p.m. trade freeze on Saturday.

My college roommate always used to give over/unders using percentages and I had to yell at him every time about how it made no (frank)ing sense

We're getting Patrick. You're the one who kept saying you wanted us to tank for him all season. Now you got him, bub. Don't pull this Nico poop on me.

Bad teams sign free agents every single year. Just last year Arizona signed McGinn to a 3 year deal at $3.33m AAV. And Vegas already signed Shipachyov to a $4.5m AAV deal, which is roughly 8% of the cap floor already taken care of. I don't think you have any awareness of what's going on around the league.

A guy like MDZ would happily go play in Vegas if they offered him a decent deal, and it won't have to be worth $16m over three years like MacDonald's contract.

- Feanor

You can assume whatever you want. Whether it's your weird dislike towards me or otherwise. McGinn and MDZ aren't exactly players who put butts in the seats. I couldn't be more excited to be dropping Michael Del Zotto.

You earlier today claimed Radko Gudas is a better than Andrew MacDonald in a disagreement with MJL. First of all, two different players and Gudas I admit has the edge physically and defensively but Mac can be used in all situations, which gives Mac an overall edge. Finger, meet pulse.

You can disagree but it isn't worth as much as the toilet paper I used this morning at work.

If the Flyers do acquire MAF they should have a clause in his contract requiring him to shave that dirty soul patch.

If the Flyers sign Fleury, it should be seven years worth six million per and it should be to back up Neuvirth all season and through the playoffs. When Neuvirth gets hurt in the playoffs (and he will) Fleury will cover for him. In the return of Neuvirth, Fleury should go right back to backing up Neuvirth.

What does "butts in seats" have to do with your ridiculous idea that Vegas would have trouble signing free agents and therefore needs to rely on the expansion draft to hit the cap floor? If Arizona can sign crappy free agents like Jamie McGinn and Luke Schenn to reach the cap floor, please explain why Vegas wouldn't be able to.

Gudas was used in as many situations as MacDonald last year, and did better in all of them.

When Nico pulls on that Debs uniform, your hatred will know no bounds.

When Nolan pulls on that Flyers uniform, your hatred will also know no bounds.

You know, for some reason...I don't know. For some reason, a voice in my head says that it's possible the Flyers move down a few spots.

Again, I know absolutely nothing. Nothing at all.

But this feels like one of those drafts where scouts/GMs kinda sit there and go "Huh. If this kid in the 4-6 range fills out like we kinda think he will..."

For example, it's been reported a few times by Bill that the Flyers in 2007 really liked Voracek and it led to them asking for him a few years later in the Carter trade.

This feels like that draft -- not as much sizzle at the top as some, but maybe guys who scouts look at and say, "Huh. The frame is there..."

I mean, for example, just say that Colorado moves Matt Duchene. Say they do, for a defenseman. So now they want a high-end center. And they say, "You know what? I think being at No. 2 gives us Patrick/Hischier, and that's where we want to be."

So they call up the Flyers and say, "OK. Let's just go all in and shake this thing up. We're terrible. You've got a crap-ton of forwards and our depth is kinda garbage. How about we give you Landeskog and No. 4, you give us No. 2, Raffl and Laughton."

Wouldn't you do that? Since you're probably gonna lose one of Raffl or Laughton anyway in the expansion draft? And then you pick a guy like Vilardi or Glass -- because you're guaranteed at No. 4 to get either Patrick, Hischier, Vilardi or Glass -- who, if you believe the scouting reports, could be really good but just need time?

I'm not saying deal back down to 13, something like that. I'm saying that this feels like one of those drafts, since you're already playing with house money, where you could move down a spot or two IF, I repeat IF, you feel really good about Glass or Vilardi and are creative
