Would you have done Juolevi and a 2nd for Drouin and a 6th?
- neem55

Thats a tough trade to make given our current rebuild.
Idk if i could say yes tbh.

We're gonna get one of Glass, Vilardi, Makar, Heiskanen, or Pettersson and I'd be happy with any of those guys really. I don't really see a Virtanen-like miss in that group.

You are getting Mittelstadt

I still want another top 8-10 pick via a trade.
I'm of the belief Virtanen is not a miss just taking a little longer than some would like.

Id rather have sergachev than OJ personally even though OJ was taken before him
- SMBDragon

At the time i had Servachev ahead of OJ but since then i like the cool & poise i've seen from OJ. Its a close call though IMO.

5. Glass - C
33. Jokiharju/Timmons (whoever is available) - D
55. Gadjovich - LW
64. Mattheos - C

Its a mix of speed, size, two way game, skill, puck moving RHD

- Brooks_Light

Thats a solid looking group indeed 👍👍

Really depends on the GM's perspective as to when the Canucks would be competitive again, three, four, five years down the road? If you acquire Drouin and he's wasted over the best years of his career with a team finishing at the bottom then whats the point?
- LeftCoaster

to me prime is 25-31
that means in 3 years drouin is in his prime. Call me crazy, but I'm hoping were competitive in 3 years. We land Vilardi and draft d heavy this year and next. Do I think trading Juolevi is ideal/? of course not! I'd way rather move Edler/Tanev, but it's a matter of the asking price. Anyway, montreal won huge IMO. Not for next year, for ten years. Maybe Serg is better than I think he is, but for me that is a landslide.

That makes no sense because in both situations no 6th rounder is given. Why include it in the trade if your not going to send it?

considering for MONTHS, everyone on this board is saying how much we need to stock up the defence and don't need a winger. Now y'all are salty JB didn't make the offer for Drouin?

Trading Juolevi for Drouin is like robbing Peter to pay Paul, it just creates a hole for another LW we don't need.

Solid trade though, pretty fair.

But... we do need LW. moreover, we need young elite players. I'm going to give this up because the trade is already gone. But if a similar trade was on the table for Ekblad tomorrow, I'd take it. You take a prospect and pick and you trade for established piece (22 years old!)

The leaves did it in 4 years. We've already bottomed out for 2. I don't think 3 is impossible, just seems like it after the last two years. With Boeser in the lineup this year, Juolevi next year. It's slowly happening already.

While I prefer some over others, between Glass, Vilardi, Mittel and Pettersson I could care less which one is ultimately selected by Benning.

I will truly tantrum if he fails to take one of the above (i.e takes a winger or selects Heiskanen at 5)

Good trade for both teams.
Mtl needs scoring desperately and has some talent on the backend that is expendable.
TBl needed to move someone and got some futures back.

Vancouver is not in a position to make a similar trade, although i'd love to add Drouin to the team.
