And in the end it got him a new team with a 33 million dollar deal. Seems like it worked for him
- sbroads24

Yeah but big risk for Canadiens....but he is french and skates, and has good hands, but in the end has done nothing more in his career than Sam, and QUIT on his team because he did not like how they treated him...to me that the type of guy I want nothing to do with.

But hey today must be whine about Sam day around here today.

This

He will probably play a long solid career in the NHL.

In no way, shape or form, do I trade this player unless I'm getting exactly what I need in return.

Reinhart is a guy you want on your team. He's a huge asset to this team.

If someone is trying to low ball you in a trade, I'd say see ya later. No way am I giving Reinhart away for a song. You better be ready to give up some prime pieces if you want this player.

- mattsox

One thing I don't like about Reinhart is he is too slow to be on Jack's line. We need some
better speed and attack for his line.

Nobody's whining about him. The question posed was: could Sam Reinhart fetch the same type of return in a trade? Nobody seems to disagree with the answer of "no".

I can take no credit for this trade that somebody through out there as Stash shared it, but curious to hear the thoughts of this proposal.

To Vancouver:

E. Kane, Girgensons, 2017 8th overall, 2017 2nd round pick (Wild pick), 4th round pick (not sure which year)

To Buffalo:

Tanev, 2017 5th overall (Buffalo would select Cale Makar), and a 7th round pick

I'm just excited to see which rumor is correct.

Moulson or Ennis?

If that's how you want to view it, fine.

I keep hearing about how damn good Reinhart is, how we need Kane, how Risto is a franchise #1, how Lehner is a good starting goalie, yet I see us with the 5th worst record in the NHL.

I don't know. If you want to call Sam a "great player" like the poster I responded to did, then go ahead. I just don't agree with it

There really is not a realistic trade scenario that I can see Sam involved in unless its part of a blockbuster/2-3 team deal. No one would give us a premier DMan straight up and I would not trade Sam for less.

That's a pretty decent offer. Make the 2nd to a 3rd and the 7th to a 5th and I think I'd take that.

Prediction: this time next year, pretty much everyone will forget what happened between Drouin and the Lightning. He's going to put up big numbers for Habs.

I actually think he'd be better as a 3rd line center, but I don't make those decisions. Again, I'd move him, as long as I'm getting what I need in return. Top 4 dman, Top 6 forward, preferably LW or RW.

So I know you know this, but hockey is a team sport.

NJ was worse than us, so Taylor Hall and Corey Schneider are not great players?

Colorado was worse than us, Nathan McKinnon, Duchene, Landeskog are not great players.

This is just silly. I think we know coaching (or team accepting the coachs direction) and defense was our large weak point this year (and injuries which is never a complete excuse).

I am not saying any of those guys are "great players" but great players are on bad teams all the time.

on the radio, they were pretty much saying either radulov or galchenyuk is gone

and their blue chip to get a center was moved for a winger
