yes it does

and gives us a plugger for rw on second line for the next 2 seasons while the kids develop

- homiedclown

Silfverberg is better than a "plugger" imo
He's still young enough (25/26?) that he's staying in our top6 for years
I'd love to get him

If Nylander, Bailey or Baptiste become him I'd be ecstatic

Like the top6
Hate line3...

And that Brown contract... no way. It's not worth #11

- jdfitz77

Baptiste and Bailey are overhyped. The Sabres rookie of the year last year proved he is better, at very least more valuable, than both of them. Baptiste is meh and Bailey is out of control at the speed he tries to play at.

I think he signed for 1 mil last year with hawks

his wife is from buffalo right?

- homiedclown

Pretty sure
But he only has a couple years left
They can move back here when he's done
I think he would still chase a Cup for a couple more years

Brodin is definitely my top choice of those 3
- jdfitz77

Me too. But he will likely cost a lot. Kane and 8th pick might not even be enough.

I still like the potential of both guys
Depends on whether or not that can score at the NHL level

That definitely wouldn't do it bc Minny can't take Kane

I'd be surprised if #8 can't get us one of the defensemen we are talking about

I was very high on both but they have not shown much at the NHL level to suggest they are going to be top 6 players. Bailey player in 32 games last season and put up 4 points. Need more

As far as trading for a Dman, we are not in a tough position before tomorrows trade freeze. The teams with the extra defensemen are. So I would put an offer out there without overpaying and see where it leaves you.

Agree
That's optimal... and then we'll see

What we end up having to pay will depend on how many of these teams with extra defensemen make deals with Vegas

Could go from a buyers market to a seller's market if Vegas is willing to let all these teams off the hook for draft picks

Now if it gets past tomorrow, you might have to over pay. But for the next day, I would not over pay. Put them in a tough spot and see what happens.

That means not having to give up Reinhart, Kane or #8

Worth a shot?

You do realize that

1. We're trading Kane. This is the only time to trade him to get the best value. He's not going to sign here. While I'd like to keep him it just seems like he'll hit FA.
2. We need a top pairing defenceman and Kane alone is likely not enough. Brodin is very, very good and would likely be the best case scenario for us to get.

So if any validity to the Lehner being moved rumour, what are odds Sabres pick up MAF? GM connection, buys time to continue to groom Ullmark. Just a random thought.
- riptheguard

The sabres don't like ullmark, they love him
