Galchenyuk is not a center. He's as much a center as Trayden. He's better 5v5. Still more a compliment not a line driver, but a better scorer. Although he might get paid more too for all in all similar production. 1 for 1 sure, but we have nothing to offer they want. They'd want a ready top 6 center, but Drouin has experience there so it seems they want to see if he might solve that. Risky but hey. And we aren't giving them a defensemen.

Honestly I just said Trayden Schenn for the 3 Islanders I've been talking about for months.

De Haan I like, but I would do Hickey instead since he will be UFA. Halak's agent has openly feuded with Snow and I do think they would like to offload him, and Barzal is just a huge crush who I wouldn't trade if I were them.

The main idea is that the isles need to get rid of a defenseman, but more importantly, the only move I am truly hoping they make is an upgrade to their 3rd protected defenseman

I'm listening when you bring up Barzal but we are able to potentially draft a number one center in a couple of weeks. I hear you when you De Haan and Hickey except, I'm hoping we don't trade or sign any defense this offseason unless it's a strictly depth move, and even than in iffy because I want Brandon Manning to be the 7th defender and MacDonald 5-6 range. I want to live and die with Morin and Hagg's mistakes next season. As for Halak. I thought he jumped off a cliff, landed in space and drifted away from earth.

Actually, I think the Isles do, as well -- Tavares might extend, might not, if they don't look like they're gonna win soon. Maybe they could get more for Pulock elsewhere, I don't know, but if they see something in Laughton, then Raffl-plus gives you the kind of depth you need to maybe get in and do something if you do find a way to shed Halak's deal and use the cash for more upgrades

The isles dont need 2 more forwards to protect and the Flyers don't need someone like Pulock. I would prefer a right handed shot over left, but they are harder to get and it's really just a placeholder anyway. I wouldnt mind something that moves Pulock to Vancouver and getting Tanev, but that is a bit of a commitment
