I don't get how the Pens can trade for Duchene who makes $6M, and not give up some kind of player with salary. Prospects and negotiating rights to Daley are not going to be a good decision for the Pens. We have to sign Schultz, Dumoulin, and Sheary, plus fill the rest of the roster. If I were Rutherford, I would try to include Hornqvist in the deal.

We have cap to blow, but 6 mil is a lot to pay for 3C, no matter how good he is. Depends on the package it takes to get him. He also only has 2 years left under contract which is a red flag. I'd rather use a big package to go after Tyler Johnson than use a big package on Duch.

Leafs don t need any thing from any of the rest of the teams in the NHL. Just draft and be patient. There is nothing that special available that would warrant the leafs giving up a young potential hockey stud. i wont be upset if the leafs do nothing. let every one else overpay for defense. and now seeing the pens win with their defense. i don t wanna give up anything.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Pitts is undoubtedly looking for a productive, proven 3C and Bozak fits the bill perfectly. Given his history with Phil and the ability to play up and down the lineup increases his value to Pitts considering the combined injury history of Sid and Geno. Anyone care to put together a proposal or two?°

that was a salary move not a player trade

Nah not really...he just had 3rd highest time on ice for the cup winning team. What he lacks in foot speed he makes up for in smarts. Has good D stick and has a good first pass. He played very, very well this run its just that he made a few glaring gaffs (ie Bobby Ryan OT goal game 1) and thats what he's judged on by a lot of folks it seems.
