Best defense is a good offense. Push play and Ron Hainsey looks like a Norris Trophy winner.

This point should be considered irrelevant. 10 other teams with bad contracts does not make Moulson's any less of a mistake.
- buffalofan19

I guess what I was getting at was that Murray made a horrible deal (he did) but the point is every team does at some point, so its not like he is the only one making bad moves / deals. Very few make perfect moves every time. Only teams I can think of right now making great moves would have to be Nashville (Subban and Johannson and Forsberg deals) and Pittsburgh (mostly because they won cup last 2 years, but they do have mr 87 and mr 71)

it's not proof, it's situational and it's partially a testament to poor defense.

It was over a 3 year sample......

I agree with all this. Just saying he is not the reason we missed the playoffs this year. He did not help, but was not the largest issue. That will continue to be Bylasma's system and buy in, into it.

I still think we are working (and will succeed) in a deal with Vegas to take him. I can only hope we work a deal where it is something like this:

Moulson
2nd rounder (ours, 40th? overall)
Ennis
3rd rounder (Washingtons or ours, whatever)

To Vegas for 7th rounder (if we need to get something back in the deal)

- Lilroot9

I think we'd probably have to take a contract back that the Knights acquired to give them some room on contract limit. I can't wait to see what actually happens. Hopefully they don't just pick Falk or Carrier in exchange for a 5th rounder. That would be incredibly boring/disappointing

Hearing that a second may be involved, and that it's a 2nd for a 4th, and they pick Moulson.

e. kane is a trouble maker and we don't need him

p.kane screws the team up cap wise, but let's get him

if your tying up $30 mil in p.kane, eichel and ror, your strapped like the hawks minus the cups

Pretty much.

But let's be completely fair. One player is a 90-100 point guy

The other has 100 points over the past 3 seasons

It is housleys job if he accepts. Pegula does not want tocchet
- Buffalo39

When you hear character and discipline I would think Housley over Tocchet for the obvious reasons. Everyone has been pulling for Housley since we fired Disco Dan I feel. It just makes a bunch of sense

If we get LV to take Moulsen ($5m), which seems in the works and can unload another salary (Kane, Bogo, Ennis), that almost equals the cost of Kane ($10.5m). In saying that, I see no way JBots does that as one of his first moves.....too risky. Though having someone who can finish for Jack is dream worthy

again

if you have 30 million tied up to 3 players

you have roughly 45 million for the other 20 players

and no cups

with okposo and risto, you have 33 mil for 18 players

figure 5 mil for your 2 goalies, you have 28 mil for 16 players

your the hawks minus the cups

Call me what you will, but I'd take O'Reilly over Tavares right now.

I would not. Tavares is the better player 100 times out of 100.

I stand corrected. I really thought Tavares was closer to 30. Now that I see he is 26, okay, I'm Nucking Futs!

Even before I saw Tavares' age, I would have agreed JT is a better player, I just thought he was older.

All good. I did that this year with Oshie, except I thought He was 26-27 instead of wrong side 30
