As someone else said last night I hope all you morons that rooted for the Caps to lose are happy. Idiots.
- StepfordSam

lol, right, because who one roots for actually determines the outcome of a game

Yes, because Virtanen is younger and has one more year on his ELC than Laughton does. But right now, it's a lateral move.
- jmatchett383

Easy to say now of course, but NYI, Vancouver and Carolina all whiffed hard in 2010. Nylander and Ehlers are already 60 point forwards.

Not sure why we are debating whos going to get taken, we all know Michal Neuvirth George McPhee said he's "technically perfect" so its a no brainer, right?!!!!

AM I RIGHT?!!!!!!

- flyers4487

Neuvrith ain't going nowhere.

It's him and Marc Andre-Fleury until Hart is ready.

You could be. Those comments are hard to ignore.

But objectively, I think Vegas could take at least 5 goalies who are better value than Neuvirth, and then auction off the two they don't want.

Raanta
Grubauer
Pickard
Subban (not waiver exempt)
Korpisalo (waiver exempt so can play in the AHL in 17-18)

So would i.

I kind of feel laughton is at that point of almost being a underachieving prospect for underachieving prospect swap.

I keep hoping he takes a step, even if it is a PK, 4th line role player but just not sure it's there. Maybe a change is needed and maybe we get someone who needs a change. Guys i think of are maybe Duclair, Virtanen, Fredrick Gauthier in TOR, and I would even be curious if i could pry the rights of Nichushkin from Dallas.

Can't remember if it's been asked or not, but would you offer Vegas Laughton in order to take Amac (if possible?). I've seen rumors of Hawks trying to have Vegas take Kruger with TVR as a sweetener.

They could just take Laughton, so it's not much of an inducement for them to pick up the $16,500,000 bill for MacDonald.

And the ED will be full of dmen similar to MacDonald, but better and cheaper in many cases.

I'm with you, in theory. But that argument didn't work for Subban in Game 1.

Also, speaking of Subban, he didn't impress me at all that whole series. I was looking for more, and was disappointed.

You have Vegas take him(if he waives his NMC) and then make a deal with Vegas.

It's officially the offseason and there is little no to arguing happening in here.

Well, that's because for some unknown reason the NHL seems to think that replay in certain situations is a good idea.

Sorry should have added if Laughton is chosen as the last protected forward, but I know Amac getting taken is unlikely regardless. Just wasn't sure if fans would be ok with that move as some have said over the last couple of weeks they wouldn't offer pick(s) for Amac to get taken.

Im pretty sure the pens would lose him for nothing before they trade him to us.... Tampa however, could maybe deal for him, and we give say a 4th rounder for him.....Since they are the new Switzerland and all...

If Vegas can either take AMac+Laughton or one of Raffl/Cousins, I think they'd take the latter.

Horrible sight line for the ref. Made the call based on Murray's body language and lack of proper viewing angle.

Sounds like CBJ are giving them a first rounder + a prospect to take Clarkson and pick a specified player in the ED.

So that's a $5.25m cap hit for 3 years for Vegas where part of the salary is paid by insurance like Bolland. Now Vegas really don't need to take bloated contracts like Girardi (if he waived his NMC) or MacDonald.

Interesting thing i saw was Flames having interest in Raanta. I forgot about him. But would you offer the Boston 3rd rounder we have to Vegas for them to select Raanta for us?

Maybe something like Laughton and 3rd rounder to Vegas for Raanta? Raanta is only 28 and carries just 1 million cap hit next season.

I gotta think there's team (AZ, Car, Win) that could call up CBJ, accept the deal, and tell them they can keep specified player on protected list.
