I don't think the refs are out there with a command from the NHL to help the Pens win. However, they definitely are more inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. Happens in other leagues who favor star players (NBA,NFL) but it still extremely annoys me. Call the game evenly regardless of teams/players. If this game ends in a 1 goal win for the Pens it will always be tainted. Not because of anything the Pens did, but because the ref was wayyyy to quick to blow the whistle.

And I know the BS jmatchett will give, it's a 60 min game with a lot of calls and the Preds had their chance. Taking a away the first goal in a potential series ender is huge and has an extreme outcome on the game.

Maata and Daley tripped in succession, no calls.

Maatta trips arvidsson, called.

Man, the refs are totalling calling this game in Pittsburgh's favor.

And Murray just got slashed, no call.

That was a weak call for 5-3.

If the refs want the Pens to win this game so badly, please explain the PP discrepancy thus far. I'm curious to hear how it benefits Pittsburgh.

By the way, the no goal was a bad call, as was the disallowed goal in game 1.

I agree mostly. No amount of penalties called will make up for that goal because the puck actually went in the net. Instead of giving them better chances to score again.

I dont think they are throwing the game but that call definately changed it. My opinion is let them play refs shouldnt change the game only make sure its a fair match.

How many PP's have the Preds had? Have to score on one of them. The goal was disallowed. The Preds have to deal with that and win the rest of the game.

You said the refs are inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. How do the PP chances tonight reflect that?

Unfortunately and fortunately the rehearsal for my wedding starts at the same time as the draft with the dinner afterwards. Its going to be torture to not be able to watch them select the #2 pick. Will probably miss most the draft.

Missed your earlier post. Congrats. I missed 2011 game 1 Boston on my wedding and the entire series on my honeymoon. I didn't miss too much.

Are you really that dense? The refs are inclined, for lack of a better word, to "trust" star players ability. Despite what many Flyers fans think, Murray has become a star. The ref blew it by trusting he'd made the safe instead if getting in the correct position. Any PP after the fact for the Preds is irrelevant to my point. As a previous poster said there was a clear goal on the board that the refs took away cause he screwed up. It doesn't matter what else they do in the game unless they were to mistakenly take a goal away from the Pens. The only puck that went in the net was called off due to human error. Therefore if the Pens win by one, discounting EN, it will be tainted in the eyes of many. Again, no fault to the Pens and no directive from the NHL, but internal bias from the ref.

Thanks for saying that a huge discrepancy in penalties that is contrary to your belief is irrelevant. Enjoy your bucket if tears.

Thank you. I guess its come to peronal attacks. If he is going to say its bias for star players wouldnt you expect the penalties to on be on Crosby and Malkin not the team as a whole?

I actually don't care who wins. If the Flyers aren't winning it's irrelevant to me. But everyone here knows your gig is making snarky comments. An ability to actually take in another's point of view seems impossible for you.

And has been getting called on it. Unlike Nashville, who apparently haven't committed one all night.

Has there been a cheaper goal to win the cup? (Maybe Nystrom's but not in this century)

Yeah, PP opportunities are better than goals.
