Isn't this kind of a perfect example on why not to invest a ton in wingers? |

i'll give you Chicago because of kane and hossa...when chris kunitz was traded for, I highly doubt anyone called him a championship winger...rookie jake guentzel is having a helluva season and they have a bunch of nobody's other than phil kessel...he was considered an excellent scorer but the words 'championship' and 'kessel' together were never taken seriously...
that's a start...what other names can you put into the conversation? - Michael Pachla

I'd trade Bogo and a 2nd for Eberle and keep Kane if this were the case. - BeadyEyedDouche
Holy S, where do I sign? I'm good with all of the above.

I would trade all of Buffalo's wingers for that group in a heartbeat. They're more productive, and they take up less cap space. |

Ok... just possibilities here
The Cap seems to go up 3mil each year, so that's what I went with
https://www.capfriendly.c...m/armchair-gm/edit/350482
1) defensemen don't have to be Brodin & Manson, those are just guys I like that could be moved... (sub in whoever though)
I think what we give back is very reasonable
There's also more draft picks, plus guys like Carrier & Rodrigues who aren't in my lineup for the 18-19 season which could be added to a trade if we really need to add more to make the deals work
2) I signed Neal bc we have the Cap space, even with signing Kane as well
Guys like Nash & VanRiemsdyk are also UFA though
And even if we didn't sign another forward...
take out Neal & I still think our forwards look good
This was mainly done to show how we can EASILY afford to sign Kane,
and bring in TWO defensemen for the top4
IF we can't move Moulson & Ennis...
that's even fine
Just ditch Neal & re-add them
It'll fit
And that's with 16 forwards & 9 defensemen counting towards the Cap
Knock it down to 13 & 7 and it gives us about 4mil more in room
We could even buy out Moulson to give us more room
After 18-19...
Moulson is gone & Ennis has only 1 year left
Our Cap situation is not bad at all...
even if it only goes up 2mil per season |

What up Buzz peeps! Been reading the Buzz for has to be around 8 years now and this is my first post. Bout time! Had to put my input in. Think murrey set us back a bit but think everyone agrees about that. Thought he morgaged the future. Think he messed up drafting reinhart instead of Draisaitl. Not saying that now because draisaitl had a great year but thought that at the draft. Murray was saying he wanted a big team and Draisaitl was that body. Think the knock on him during the draft was he took shifts off or something. But whatever thats the past. Reinharts not bad and could be a good player. But do you guys see him as a player that will show up in the playoffs?? Watching the playoffs right now i just cant see reinhart not getting destroyed. Or winning a battle. If he cant win a battle or go in the corner without being scared of getting hit in the regular season hows he gonna do it in the playoffs when everyones going 110%. Seen 3 seasons of him and dont think he will change. Never know. Think if we can trade him do it. Get a yound top 4 D for him. Add if need be. As for kane yea i like his play. But for a soon to be 6M dollar winger he is just injured to much. Would love him in the playoffs but after 82 games who knows if hes still standing. Trade him for a D and or a player, pick. If we can sign him for 2-3 years at 6M i wouldent be apposed. I agree with people no need to overpay for wingers. If you got a elite one sure give him his money. But seems like every free agency theres 3-4 guys around 3.5-4 mil on short deals that can give you 20-25 goals and 40-50 points. Hmmm sound like kane and reinhart. Time to make this team faster and playoff caliber. Fix the D, get guys that compete and draft good and give some of these kids a shot. I know its not gonna happen this off season but also dont think we are very far off. Think botterill is the guy. Hope i didnt piss to many people off haha |

What's with Eberle on the "chart", Sabres leading the pack? Shouldn't get a ton back for the combo of salary and recent production, but the question is, are we interested and if so at what cost? - chugger38

2 things. Paragraphs. That's really hard to read. And proofread.
I'm absolutely not trading Kane for a pick. Not going to happen. No one is giving us a pick that's anywhere near his value, and multiple picks is even worse. I would do a 1 for 1 maybe add a bit on our side. A 2nd or 3rd. For a good, young top 4 guy.
I'm not trading Reinhart after 2 seasons unless it's for an obscene overpayment.

I think a 2nd would probably do the trick
Seems like they really want out of his contract
RNH is underrated too
They're dumb if they trade him on the cheap |
