BUF is waiting for Cup final to end to interview Housley, and possibly PIT assistant coaches Rick Tocchet and Jacques Martin.

The reason someone would care would be that if they do sign Kulikov within the tampering period that would count as our expansion pick

So the Seabrook rumors are in full force...

I'm assuming almost everyone on here wouldn't want him on the Sabres bc of his age & contract, but...
Toronto is reportedly interested
and I could see him possibly waiving to go there

If that happens...
it would be GREAT for the Sabres

They're one of only a handful of teams who have an open slot to protect a defenseman
If the Leafs trade for him, that takes out of the running for other defensemen we'd be interested in

Here's hoping...
bc I see them as our main competition when it comes to trading for one of these available defensemen

It would be cool if Vegas signed Kulikov,
bc then we wouldn't lose Ullmark or Carrier

But it would also obviously mean that we didn't work out a deal for them to take a bad contract off our hands

I wouldn't, and I love Seabrook
He's 32, & I think under contract for 6 more years at 5.8m cap hit
No thanks...
even if they give him to us for free

It's actually 6.8 and 7 more years

I'm not opposed to adding a big contract if it's the right player and the deal makes sense though
